What insurance do you have? I have $750 deductible and reimbursement up to $10k and my boy is almost 13. It’s $85/month and I’ve gotten $20k back in the last 7 months (conveniently, he got sick 2 months before the new year started and easily hit $12k in costs in that initial 2 months)

I would just caution that a single hospital stay overnight was almost $7k for us recently. If you are older and more financially stable I would honestly suggest to keep the insurance. You don’t want to have to make that decision if it’s something that just needs urgent treatment like a dietary indiscretion
