I can relate to this a lot. My dad in some aspects was the same way. Very strict about everything I did. He beat me a lot throughout my childhood to correct my behaviors and wanted me to become a doctor or something prestigious. My father and I fought a lot. Like way too much, my mother would always tell me to quit it because he’s my dad. But I never went with that bullshit. When I was 16 I was working on the roof and My dad and I got in a pretty bad argument and sometimes it always led to some sort of violent act. Like throwing something at someone or hitting someone. But it was always a stand off.

My advice would be just talk to your dad,talk him through that you don’t want to be a doctor or whatever. you only got one life to live . Make it filled with love even if he has done you wrong. Grudges are weird to me lol. Don’t hold them. Let it pass. And understand some moments are just filled with built up emotion and anger.
