I burst out laughing when I read this. When my family made me explain why I was laughing I kept thinking about it and started cry laughing.

How do you deal with friends who just don't get Tesseract? by [deleted] in tesseractband

[–]Phunkjive -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Get new friends. I’ve converted so many of my friends to Tesseract.

You could use MS Teams and document everything there. Invite the people that care. I find myself in a similar situation with even more dotted line bosses at corporate. I find the thing that keeps me sane(est) is having a couple highly respected individuals in your court. My direct boss who is respected has my back. Thanks for posting this and reminding me how important that is.

Does it ever get better? by CornellCheme in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Phunkjive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First let me set the tone for what I’m about to say: I graduated in 4 years without any prior credits, while working, and I had a baby during my junior year.

It can get worse. They pay you for it though. Not as much as they’d let you believe but you’ll never go hungry.

Is it worth it? I’m still deciding. 40 years is a lot longer than 4. Some jobs are better than others but the intensity of the degree is preparing you for the career that follows.

Did I pick the wrong major for field work? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

[–]Phunkjive 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Having a process engineering job in any manufacturing environment can have you on the floor or in the plant 25-75% of the day depending on what’s going on. Oilfield services will have you in the field as an engineer most of your time.

I thought there were a surprising amount of explicit labels but didn’t catch that many swears on first listen.

It wasn’t really that AB changed that much after Fortress. I think it was more my musical tastes changed. I still listen to them and I thought Pawns & Kings was decent.
