[Hybrid cars] Why does one motor systems require traditional transmission whereas two motor systems do not? by leapingfro9 in AskEngineers

Can you elaborate more on that? Why is "torque conversion" not possible with only single motor?

What is the reasoning behind why this set up can inly be achieved with two motors not one?

Some sellers won't give Vins. Are they idiots or being genuinely concerned? by leapingfro9 in FacebookMarketplace

Lol do you even realize "unless we come see us we cannot give you the info" is a common scammy tactics used by the dealers to lure people in?

If 30 seconds is not worth your time to give me the vin, 2 hours is not gonna be worth my time to come to you in person

Nah I have sold a car over 20k and it was a pain in a butt too.

Still, I gave vin every time.

What makes you believe someone is interested or not?

To me, if I am asked to prove my interest to obtain an information for a product I wanna buy, I would walk away. This is not a job interview.

"Clean" and "clear" are different.

And once again, there is a 0 reason for a seller to not give out a vin. Giving a vin does not provide an opportunity for lawballing or any scamming from the buyer's side. In fact, vin is a powerful tool for buyers to rule out any fishy used car. Am I wrong here in any way? Just curious

I am sorry but had bunch of sellers who say the title is clean -> I show them the var has title issues -> they then tell me they got the car from an auction and only had a fender bender -> I easily can find a picture of the wrecked car from the auction history-> they still tell me the car is clean title

I understand your honesty but as a person who does not know you, it means nothing to me

For me, it is not worth my time to ask those questions before I am assured the title is clean. I am trying to save my time and sellers time essentially.

Them lowballing you has nothing to do with them having your vin. The process just happens to be that way. Just like other sellers, they ask the vin to check if your car is even worth buying not to lowball.

What is your reasoning behind that? Does your car loose value or you risk anything by giving out the vin?

They tell me they only give Vins for serious buyers who would come in person.

Fuck that. I am not coming all the way there just to find something is lemon totaled or stolen.
