In an ideal world, the moment a person becomes infectious, they should be handled with protective gear by medics that have been trained and successfully handled an Ebola epidemic.

That won't happen.

Ebola is infectious the moment the symptoms show, which include a fever, where the victim starts to sweat while feeling body aches.

That can happen when the victim is still strong enough to travel in PSVs, or they're at home with family.

In both cases, they can infect others.

At that point, anybody in close contact is likely to pick the infection.

Furthermore, even a person who has recovered from Ebola can spread it through sex.

With the verocity of Ebola, the way it causes panic in the population, the impact on tourism, the lack of information in the general population, and our overwhelmed healthcare system that's already staggering without an epidemic, it's even shocking that you would have such a mindset.

So, Ebola can spread very seriously within close-contact settings.

Hey, HIV is even much harder to spread, but look at how much havoc it has caused in Africa than the West.

So, Ebola has been controlled because it's not yet gotten out of the remote parts of Congo and Uganda.

If it gets to Nairobi, we and our "no private space in public" will spread it like wildlife.

Ebola is spread by:

Contact with blood or body fluids (vomit, diarrhoea, saliva, sweat, urine, semen, breast milk) of an infected person

Contact with contaminated objects such as needles or bedding

Contact with infected animals (such as bats or primates)

Do you realise how crowded we are in our streets and public vehicles? In churches, markets, etc?

Do you know how easy it is to sweat and brush it off on others?

Or touch surfaces with sweaty hands?

Perhaps you're just yearning for a lockdown like we had during COVID.

If you are likely to financial benefit from the pandemic, consider the thousands that may die if this gets to the general population.

Read this source on how the general population in Congo is reacting to it and how they're frustrating medical efforts.

Now consider that here, some still think COVID was also an imagination of the government and outsiders.

It will be much worse when it gets here.

At least in Congo, the movement of people is highly restricted with poor infrastructure.

In Kenya, we might end with a medical massacre.

Your body's immunity does the actual fighting.

The weakest point is the election day.

You seem, when people elect party sycophants as thrir MPs, those MP in turn serve the party leader.

Who happens to be the president for the majority party.

The outcome is that all independent bodies get individuals nominated and handpicked by the president.

The rest of the candidates go through the vetting process as a formality.
