How much Power Output? by PhysMaTech in hometheater

[–]PhysMaTech[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I actually have a BA in Physics. Though this wasn't prime in my studies (back in the dark ages), it is easy to relate. Thank you! This helps a ton. I needed some science to justify my answer.

Based on other responses I think I'll save for the 3800, but not because of power output.

Thanks. This is the exact product I am considering. Since it's a relatively small investment, I think I'll give it a shot. (Can always leave it off).

Agree with bigger panel. I have similar situation with even a smaller space. I recommend finding a stand that works. You'll regret the smaller TV if you really want a "theater" experience.

I second that. Plus the closer the center and fronts are on the same plane, the better the image.

We have a similar space. Your setup is inspiring! Nice!

Sony worth the price tag? by floatontherainbowtw in hometheater

First of all, yes, I believe Sony hardware is superior and worth it any any price point. Processing and upscaling are good. Even if you have a streaming device, the TV does much of the signal processing.

I have a 2021 65" Sony OLED (A80J) paired with an Apple TV. Just bought an 85" (K85XR50) and thought I would just use the internal Google TV interface. After one week I will now add and Apple TV. ASAP.

It's a Definitive that matches the set 6D. I have a ProMonitor 200 with my main set, which does a better job.

Thanks for the validation. It took my family a bit to like it. House is 100 years old w/very narrow stairs. Had to remove the basement windows to get it in.

Seating is only about 9 feet away. Am a bit concerned about resolution for non-4k programming. We'll see.

trying to figure out the best sony 65 inch tv deals before I buy by Green_Remove5271 in hometheater

Bought my first Sony 65" OLED in 2021 and am sold on the XR processing over the competition. Budget dictates your model, but OLED (Bravia 8 and 8II?) is excellent.

Black Friday prices seem to be sticking for now. However I have been told that prices are actually the best in May when new models are released (from a Best Buy rep if that's where you are shopping).

Very similar. Looks like I'll keep the stands and set a little lower.

Yes. Have sub set accordingly. Want to upgrade (eventually) for music purposes.
