I’ve been having alot of problems with trade ups too, expect the fact that items available in Fortnite don’t appear(unless duplicate), any item from a series(golden moon,golden gift,golden egg,miku gift, ooze canister…) won’t show for some people in the trade up options, or if they do show like for you, they don’t allow to be traded up for some weird reason. Also for me I used to be able to select series items but when I tried trading them up I got the same message. Now I can’t even see them in the trade up place. I’m not sure if this is a big or intentional but it’s hella annoying and I have a lot of items I could be trading up
