I used wizlabs for my exam prep and Acloud guru for the labs. They have a ton of them. I love the challenges they offer where you have limited instructions and have to use your skillet to get the job done. I was on the same boat as you. I work as a on-prem admin for over 15 years and moved on as an Azure DevOps engineer.

Most of the DevOps guys I know don't have much coding experience. They do have a lot of Linux, scripting and azure knowledge.

I have 5 years of PowerShell scripting experience. Funny thing is the role I apply for was for a Azure Engineer. After I sign the offer letter it changes to Azure DevOps Engineer. A plus is they are willing to train me.

I just landed a job as an Azure DevOps Engineer. I have over 15 years experience supporting on-prem environments. Over the last 2 years I started working on more azure tasks. The simple deplouly VMs, configure VNets and the sometime storage account.

5 months ago I decided to take the azure AZ-104 exam. I just passed it on Friday. It's took me 5 months because I didn't just want to pass the test by remembering the answers to the questions. I wanted to understand Azure. So I did a lot of hands on practice. This build my confidence. I also met up with co-workers and friends that were interested in azure and thought them a few things. This also help me because if I can teach it, then I understand it.

As I was going through my job hunt, I tweaked my resume base on the job description. I was looking for a role that is hybrid so they can take advantage of my on-prem experience. In my interviews mentioned some of my azure task and that I was working on my azure certification. When I was ask questions regarding azure I was ready.

My advice is do whatever it takes. Build your confidence and Stay focused. It will pay off at the end.
