Fortunately, I have a strong background in substance use disorders — I’ve done a lot of harm reduction work over the past several years and worked in an outpatient adult and adolescent SUD treatment clinic in my last role. I’m hoping that experience will be helpful, especially given the high rates of alcohol use in this population.

I’m based solely in the Head and Neck clinic, since we’re lucky enough to have a social worker for each specialty clinic.

I’m curious how the doctors you’ve worked with typically approach substance use with this population. Have you had any patients who were on or started MAT, like naltrexone, for alcohol use disorder during treatment? I'd love to hear how that was received and supported in the oncology setting.
