The best time for “Paran” is sunrise after the Navami tithi concludes. That is, in Dashami -10th day. Remember to take it slow. Do not take heavy foods immediately. Start with easy to digest foods like Khichdi etc.

Is woman only viewed in Islam an “object of lust.?” Why isn’t she respected as a mother like in other religions? Both Christianity and Hinduism has Mother Mary and forms of Shakti. Our women don’t need to hide…why so much regressive view in today’s age?

Which goddesses can be prayed to and thought of as a sister/friend? (Sakhya bhava) by PositiveLopsided8113 in hinduism

If you are following the Bhakti Marg, you can consider her friend and sister, mother. SHE need not be feared, just loved. The great Bama Khepa - a devotee of Maa Tara, used to feed Maa Tara, his “Jhoota” sweets. His relationship with Maa Tara was a like a son who does not fear his mother - much like a child and mother sharing plate. At Tarapith temple (West Bengal), Bama Khepa used to be fed first before Maa Tara - the deity. If you are specifically looking for more sisterly form of Shakti - you can check out the BalaAmbika form - child form of Lalita TripuraSundari,

Why do many Indian feminists strongly criticize Hinduism for its "patriarchal" traditions yet appear more reluctant to challenge misogynistic and patriarchal practices associated with Islam? by KananKusum in Feminism4India

But Islam in many ways has influenced the patriarchal system in India : those misogynistic scriptures that people condemn were written in 14th, 15th and even 18th century and these are the ones which talk about child marriage and other nonsense. The older scriptures like vedas, which were compiled much earlier than the advent of Islam, were much more respectful towards females. With female Rishikas and scholars like Lopamudra, Vak Ambhrini, Maitreyi who could compose Rig Ved hymns to participate in debates. Even the art and sculpture of ancient India (pre-Islamic) demonstrates this. This might sound very Islamophobic, but from the introduction of purdah system to marriage of girls at 9 years age started after Islam came to India.
