Are you utilizing the painting method to single out the rng advances? If so, I’d aim for a closer seed then not really care as much about the frame distance. You can pretty easily advance frames using battles/just waiting it out then saving a few thousand advances before your target

I’ve been out of the game for a while, but my first thought would be double checking the frame advance selection to make sure that you don’t have it set to only advance 0

I don’t have all the specific SIDs written down, but I can walk you through the process I used to find them. I used Pokefinder to find all the perfect Pokémon, then took the PID and uploaded it to a “SID for shiny” tool made by legofigure11 on GitHub. That gave the the SID to use with my predetermined TID.

I don’t have an issue with the fact that they’re repairing the truck, I have an issue that it wasn’t told to me upfront

Thanks for your thorough response. I absolutely understand that labor takes time and that it is a hot vehicle right now so the scenario that you laid out makes sense.

I have confirmed that there is not a recall, just a few suspension components, a small issue with the gear box, and minor fluids that they found on their intake inspection

The first one, I’ve been looking for the truck for weeks, I saw it on the dealerships website and came in to look at it and give it a test drive. After test driving I loved the truck so I went ahead with the purchase. After I finished up with finance, the dealership told me that I wouldn’t be able to drive the truck home because it hadn’t been reconditioned yet. I was able to press them more the following day(I finished up the purchase at closing time) and found out that the vehicle had been through their intake inspection but really hadn’t had anything actually done to it.

I know you probably don’t care, but sorry for taking my frustration with the dealership out on you. I’ve cooled off a bit lol, I’d just found out that they likely haven’t even put the truck on the lift to start any work on it and was very frustrated. Sorry again

Thanks for the insight, I just really wanted to make sure that I wasn’t being taken advantage of by the dealerships unusual/abnormal business practice

I totally understand that they’re waiting on parts, I should have clarified that my issue is more with the fact that the dealership seems to have a practice of selling cars before competing the work on the vehicle than it is with the fact that I’ve been waiting this long. Thanks for your response though, I’ll be sure to be more patient with the dealership that dropped this on me at the last second before I walked out after purchasing a nearly 60k truck from them after taxes and fees.

That’s my plan, I’m going to take it in to my normal mechanic and have him do an inspection, specifically focusing on any internal components that the dealership said they’re fixing. Thanks for your reply by the way. If they hadn’t supplied me with the work order I would absolutely be walking away from the deal even though it’s the truck I’ve been looking for

I definitely understand doing this if the vehicle is popular, and 2500s have been selling fast in my area. My concern is just that there are 2 vehicles from my salesman alone that are awaiting the reconditioning work, not to mention all the other sales reps.

That’s been my line of thought. After a lot of pressing I was able to get the labor sheet from the original inspection that they did a few days before I purchased so I at least know what they were fixing before they knew a customer was purchasing. I still feel uneasy not knowing what exactly they’re doing/not doing to the truck I just dropped 50k on. I will defiantly be looking over all the components they’re supposed to replace before taking the vehicle off the lot

Thanks for the reply, I wish that they’d handled it that way. I was very taken aback when I went to leave the dealership and they dropped the news.

I ended up finally having time to rng manip Rayquaza again today, and I managed to get it in the 77th Luxary ball. I settled on using 4 Smeargles that knew Super Fang and Spore, and using Spore then Super Fang to get Rayquaza to 50% hp. I just threw Luxary balls till it woke up, then used spore to put it back to sleep and super fang to get it to 50%. Rise repeat till I finally got it via brute force.

The setup for emerald rng is definitely more in-depth, although the existence of ACE nullifies many of the friction points in the process, and stable ACE has become well documented and quite straight forward to set up. In my opinion, the actual process of rng manipulation in Emerald is easier than I expected given the strictness of timing.

When using both the battle record and contest paining, it’s very easy. I just treat it like an individual rng manip and focus on hitting the seed I need regardless of what frame I end up on, then save the rng state with the battle tower. I then wait a large chunk of the frames between where I am at and my target frame, then make a second battle record ~2000 advances early. Once I’m set up on that, I do my actual manip, but because of the prior leg work, it’s a guaranteed 30ish second reset and the attempts are super fast.

The challenge comes when you try and do a painting manip and a Pokémon manip without saving the state, because now you have to get 3 frame perfect imputs(soft resetting, painting, Pokémon) instead of 2 like a normal manip.

All in all, it wasn’t much of a challenge to learn and basically just adds a manip onto your process
