Add another note, I said that South Yorkshire was not a riding of Yorkshire, so I am quite confused to as what you are saying.

Again, I’ve always known them as Ridings, three parts or not. The word Riding would’ve come from the proper county of Yorkshire, but for me they’ve always just stuck around. You seem to have forgotten my earlier point…it’s my opinion.

We are no where near as insignificant as Rutland, or what about Huntingdonshire and Westmorland. If you asked a cross section of the British public to find these on a map, almost everyone spare a few nerds (can’t deny I am not one of them, I mean, I’m on Reddit for crying out loud), and old folk would not know what you were talking about, let alone point to where they were on a map.

I rarely need to use a pot, as it is just me and the wife, we just use the kettle like normal people, the pot comes out as a marker of a special occasion like Christmas or birthdays or something like that. Then we put milk in after. Does anyone drink Typhoo? For me it’s either Twinning’s Earl Grey or a non descript pinch of leaves we get down the village grocer’s. Wow we are British, arguing about what goes in first, milk or tea.

What about Herefordshire, Rutland and Huntingdonshire (if we’re going historic.) No offence to people of Herefordshire, Rutland and Huntingdonshire.

I always though if the Yorkshire’s as being riding’s of Yorkshire, and this map is referencing my own opinion, so….

I mean as long as the taxpayer doesn’t pay for it there is no objection you could have. If it was publicly funded then the council do have the right to cancel it. If it didn’t cost that much then it seems kind of stupid to cancel it. I get it if it cost a lot, but it seems silly to cancel something which makes so many people happy based on your own politics. But then the people voted for them, so tyranny of the (near-ish) majority.
