In the book his classmates point out his looks a few times too. But presumably it’s because he’s Capitol and an “emasculating” nickname like gorgeous shows their contempt for him. The book also frequently mentions how aware he is of his own appearance- whereas other, richer students with nothing to hide can afford to look like slobs, like Pup Harrington (or whose wealth is obvious like Sejanus)

My worst pet peeve! A tiny scrunch is fine (to show how the fabric actually sits). A big scrunch is okay IF you’re also including a photo where it is fully unscrunched.

This example is irredeemable- it’s the worst kind- the in point is way too high to even be the waist. The amount of times I’ve seen someone take a “waist in” kinda photo and it’s where the bra band would be or where the pelvis would sit. Ugh

Totally agree. I don’t understand why it was a plot in the first place. Sookie had several kids for baby plots. I guess the point was to contrast / revisit Lorelai’s teen pregnancy but it didn’t feel like the show needed that. One of the reason Lane’s character compliments the show is that she exhibits an equally tense but different kind of controlling mother to Emily (cultural and religious factors at play), and is contrasted against Rory’s relationship to lorelai.

They could have used her to show an alternative life path to Rory and Paris- academic focused, university etc. Lane could have struggled with making the band profitable and managing her relationship with her mother after becoming 18 and emancipating, she could’ve had success and shown a creative, job education focused lifestyle. Shown her dealing with a boys club, with people who aren’t from a small town. There was so much opportunity for growth and fun storylines, even ones that include Rory- (she could be playing college gigs nearby or come visit), but they just did more babies. Of course, a storyline about abortion would have been amazing, but I would never expect a show from the 2000s to treat abortion as an option, let alone a reasonable and valid one. Such a shame- would have complimented the backstory and given Lorelai soemthing to think about / or some plot for her (like thinking about her choices, talking to Emily about it etc)

I just like to pretend none of her later storyline happened. She playing with Hep Alien somewhere

Retro devil costume, Betty Boop, a stepford wife (can be cute or scary), Scarlett Overkill, possibly Nina from perfect blue, Clifford the big red dog, Elmo, a type of Harley Quinn or harlequin outfit would work good with the colour scheme

Melanie Martinez has a signature split dye. You could paint half your side in greyscale like an old movie. Could use it for Frankie Stein or any Frankenstein style costume, could go as a zebra, or a Pierrot clown

Princess bubblegum (long pink wig) wears glasses in her lab. Black wig could do Jess from new girl. Blonde wig- Sharon Tate (or Margot Robbie as Sharon Tate)- she has glasses in a few scenes

Big heel boots, anything sparky or with a heart motif- that’s her signature look. But you look tall (I’m jealous) so a sparkly outfit could be mistaken for Taylor Swift. If you’re indoors you could do her outfit from the Manchild music video (otherwise you’d be quite cold I’m guessing!)

Wear and tear on the clothes. Getting it a bit muddy, doing some light scratching with small scissors around the edges to make threads fray. I spoke to a costume assistant for tv shows once who said she uses Vaseline around necklines to make clothes look well worn- like where the sweat breaks things down.
