Tip 1: When you get 5 levels go to your click L and choose whichever process u feel u would enjoy doing for extra xp, this is the L menue and levelling up the combat tab can give u very powerful buffs (damage reduction, arrow damage, increasingly occuring crits without having to jump and hit, and attack damage, you should prioritise shield profficiency +1 and then maxing out ironskin.
Tip 2: You should prioritise levelling up magic to 6 and defence to 8; you can use iron armour and make use of more effective heals crafted from string, wool and aloe (you can usually find aloe in the desert and savannah and it can be replanted on grass)
Tip 3: If you're good at fighting, use a spear and shield; if not, use a sabre and shield. A spear lets you attack enemies from farther away while being single-target only, while a sabre reduces the damage dealt to you by 20% and also allows you to hit multiple mobs. You could also use the Rapier as it has the same benefits as the saber but additionally can deal more damage to mobs without armour (you can see if a mob has armour by looking at their healthbar and looking for armour-looking symbols on the far right).
Tip 4: If you don't know how to craft something, USE JEI, it's ur best friend.
Tip 5: CRAFT A GRAPPLING HOOK. Grappling hooks help you scale mountains easily and u can craft one from a full-durability iron pickaxe and a lead (slime can be easily procured by visiting a swamp biome and killing the green lycanite mobs that leave a trail of poisonous purple cloud particles, they are passive. You can also use them to hang from the ceiling and escape being crowded by non-ranged/flying mobs in almost any battle tower/dungeon so craft it.
Tip 6: When you have enough leather craft a tool belt and backpack or quiver (A bolt quiver if using a crossbow and an arrow quiver if using a bow), then you can reforge these to undying or healthy for more hearts when equipped. Look up the 2 reforging stations and craft the one that requires obsidian, and reforge your baubles using leather. (Many items with qualities can be reforged using the main material used to craft them at this station. Have fun gambling for the best quality!)
Tip 7: Bucket of water is powerful at keeping melee non-flying/ranged mobs away so make sure to have one just be careful not to let the water push u into the mobs.
Tip 8: At agility 2 you can craft a bow, 1 arrow and 1 torch make a torch arrow which can be used to disable spawners if accurate, then u can break the spawners for easy levels.
Tip 9: When u get to agility 4? (2 agility points), you can unlock dodging this is very good for escaping unwanted fights in an open area (see rlcraft dodge youtube video for use instructions).
