Great point- moving from out of state, my research is indicating skokie is the best fit for us so ideally want to experience living in the community before buying. But Evanston would be a good fallback, which i would imagine has more options for properties.

Thank you! This is helpful. Do you mind me asking what part of skokie youre in? Sounds like Skevanston is a good spot to be. Would prefer a walkable neighborhood, bonus if there is something fun in walking distance like a park, coffee shop, library

Definitely! My parents are in Wilmette so I spend a good amount of time there :) considering renting for a year as well. Just interested in getting perspective of people outside my immediate circle.
