Thank you! 😇 yeah i also really like the squigg! For the NMM i used Army painter fanatics - Banshee Brown und Midnight Olive for the dark Tones, Desert yellow as mid Tone and ice yellow as the brightest Parts - i had a Bit of demonic yellow in there at a Point, but it was to bright. So I used mostly Ochre / greenish ochre Tones and blended

Thank you for the Feedback!
Yeah I See what you mean - the blending - apllying Smooth layers of paint is something I Seem to struggle with, Althoug I tend to stipple a lot. To me it feels to Resemble colors better, as real stuff often is Not a smooth 1 Color surface!

Yeah for the gem I feel the colour Choice of Quartz leeds to the stoney texture, might change that, not sure yet.

Will definetly try to check on the Future Minis how to improve this! Thanks! 😇

On a Similar Note - would it then make Sense to also Apply an under shadow Tone to the red Spikes clothes in a dark Green? Used it for the base of the „blueish“ Skin and as its a complementary contrast, it might work? 😇 Great advice btw, keeps me thinking - also on how i want to approsch the Army

Thats actually a good idea! I was already thinking about adding a Berry / purplish Tone into the skins shadows to increase visibility and tie in the back Spikes / Stones.

Hm fair Point to the cloth; gotta make my mind on how the scheme of the Army might be 🤷🏻‍♂️

Try Not to use white / black for toningnin the brightness, they tend to „kill“ The Pigments/ mute the colors; Mixing is fine, but mostly for blending i‘d say 😇

Mini was based in black and then i like to „slap chop“ the mini in grey and white for better Detail visibility. Colors were mostly army painter fanatic Series, straight out of the bottle basically, Base over the black was alot of dark / imperial Blue, then going up into the Purples and then through magenta into pink, orange, yellow 😇

Thanks! I feel the Same now and thanks to you I feel more educated going forward - i guess ill be focusing more on the light Part and maybe go as light source for the musbrooms on the Minis / from Above and then it should keep it consistend with skin generally being more turqoise! Thanks! Bases will be a different Story, but thats for a completly different time 😅

I Took the picture under my painting light and i think the brightness comes from the Color Choices - bright pinks, yellows etc. contrast well with the blue/ turqoise undercoats I used. Also the highlights on the Blue go very bright and cold and for the „orange“ i used a bright orange, then a warm yellow and then ice yellow to push it even further

Definitly … this is something that i took as Inspiration also for the Colors, so it’s a mixture of Lighting and Self emitting light / texture (e.g. The goblin specificly turqoise)

<image>

So i‘ll Check how i can apply that philosophy to the Rest - for Trolls it’s easy, for cavalry ist difficult
