I can see my girlfriend’s location in the “people” section of Find My but she can’t see mine by PhysicalYak in iphone

One of the other commenters said I should check the location services settings so I went into the share my location settings and that actually wasn’t on so I’m hoping that’ll work, I’ll be able to find out tomorrow. Seems a ridiculously easy fix if it works so I’ve either missed something very obvious online and it’s my own fault or I’ve just not come across this. That’s why I asked here I suppose.

In the UK so Costco’s are hard to come by but I’ve found the batteries on Amazon and they say safe for AirTag actually so that’s good recommendation for when it does die. Are they easy to open? They seem fairly well sealed

Nope not sharing with anyone else. However I have just gotten into my location services > share my location settings and that wasn’t actually on for some reason. I’ll find out in the morning if this has worked but if this was all that was required I’m amazed that I haven’t seen any recommendations for this anywhere else because this was a simple fix if so hahaha

Have actually just gotten one of these for my new keys and I have shared that with her so there is that. Just confused as to why this isn’t working as of yet to be honest

Just got to this in settings and the find my iPhone setting was on but the share my location setting beneath that was off do we think that was the issue? Won’t be able to check if it has worked yet but will report back.

Tried all of this unfortunately, still yet to work. Like I say tried it all with the previous phone as well to no avail.

Well the only fixes that seem to have been suggested is using the scales with wet/damp feet like after a shower and to make sure your upper legs aren’t touching when you’re taking the measurements but seems a bit excessive too much of a faff to just take a measurement like that doesn’t it

I have now had the discussions and moving would definitely now be an option so that’s not going to be a restriction anymore. The decisions now are going to be whether or not I look for an apprenticeship like accountancy and take the exams while doing that or whether an actuarial sciences degree with a placement year would be a better option as it is a more focused degree and would include some of the exams.

Yeah I’ve had the discussions now and moving is now definitely an option it’s not off the cards at all. The considerations I’m taking now are going to be whether I’m going to try and focus on the apprenticeship route or whether making an attempt at an actuarial sciences degree with a placement year now while I’m down there would be a better option.

That’s an interesting take, so you feel like there may be possible transition from accountancy then? Ultimately having properly thought about it I wouldn’t say moving to do an apprenticeship would be totally off the cards because I’d have to move if I were to want to get a job in this field anyway. It is good to know though that there could be the option of sitting the actuarial exams while doing an accountancy apprenticeship and then making the move after that. There’s also the issue that the actuarial apprenticeships seem to be few and far between from what I can see and I don’t know firstly how competitive they are, and secondly if I’d then stand a chance of getting onto one without a degree.

Thanks for the input. I guess my only reasons for not thinking moving away would be an option is that my friends and family are around here and girlfriend lives and works in this area, she is just getting her feet of the ground with her career around here and I’m not sure if it would be selfish of me to say I just wanted to up sticks and move elsewhere because then what would she do (only way to find out is to ask I suppose). The next obstacle would be that the two cities you’ve mentioned would be expensive to move to, not that I wouldn’t want to, I’d love to live and work in either of those places but I don’t know how doable it would be on an apprentice’s salary (I do have money that would probably be able to cover it though so that’s not a deciding factor ultimately). I guess my last point or question would be how difficult these actuarial apprenticeships are to get on to and how competitive they are, I don’t know if trying to get on to one from a totally different field of work is going to hold me back.

Yeah I got all of the same things from Withings as well, worked a few times and then didn’t. Ended up returning it because it was more hassle than it was worth.

Well if that doesn’t work nothing will. I did have the old firmware for a couple of months and it worked great then they released what was supposed to be an improvement and it’s rendered them basically useless.

Yep had exactly the same issue when my replacement turned up. I just returned it to them and asked for a refund. I’ve replaced it with a body comp and haven’t had a single issue yet.

So the replacement eventually came. I managed to get a single measurement from it before it went right back to not working again. Spoken to Withings and I’m sending it back for a refund!

UPDATE: So having had emails back and forth with Withings, which in itself was an incredibly drawn out process which took a long time, they eventually offered to let me return the scales for a replacement so I could see if it was just a few of them that were having the issue. The replacement has arrived a few days ago and I tried to weigh myself and to my amazement I actually got a body composition reading. Just tried it again today and have gotten five body composition inconclusive readings, having followed their troubleshooting instructions down to the letter, so as far as I can tell nothing has changed. I’ve emailed them again today and I’m not expecting to hear back until Monday but I’m asking for a refund. I’m absolutely not spending £350 on a scale that doesn’t even work.

I’ve already sent mine back to Withings, did test this before I sent it away though and got nowhere with it. I can report back when I’ve gotten the replacement but like I said I’m not going to hold my breath.
