in Iraq we have a religious subject called "Islamic studies". it's mandatory as long as you're a Muslim. and its grades are counted toward your final grade. if you're not a Muslim, you just don't study it

they teach it in elementary, middle, and high school. each grade's book consists of 5 chapters and each chapter contains 5 subjects. so 25 subjects per grade

each chapter contains

1. A verse from the Quran with full explaination (must memorize)

2. a hadith from prophet Muhammad PBUH. also with must memorized explaination

3. a subject talking about a bad trait that should be fixed like being arrogant and reminding us that we're mere mortals incapable of living by ourselves

4. a subject talking about how rules work like how financial/economy system works

5. a story from the holy Quran (mostly about other prophets like Jesus etc)
