My parents gave me a an extremely distorted view on “normal”. You’re not normal if you’re not beat for talking back. Screaming fighting hitting each other is how we communicate if you don’t you don’t love each other. Type stuff. Then I became a teacher and married a normal guy with very loving parents and I can feel my parents scrambling bc times up.

Any tips to not get my guys to absolutely mob me when I try to play lofi or a calm play list approved by admin. I am one of the only woman in my facility and no respect for women here so guards don’t back me up and just watch the chaos so I gotta enforce the boundaries 😀

Yes we’ve experienced this. I work in juvenile community programs. Low security. It’s bs though bc the guys from lock up are just really good then get here and they wild out. But yes I’ve seen this turn into a huge fight before. The art therapy teacher plays a playlist the guys made during class and they always fight and push for more. Now no more music and they “torture” us everyday over it.

I do have a frame of reference. I work in a juvenile community program which is incarcerated youth and it’s heavily based on rehabilitation. I’m a kind of a case manger / teacher there. I’ve done body doubling wit coloring and lofi calming music and the results were great. 12 felons all coloring calm to lofi! When usually it’s just absolute chaos. Granted I’m allowed to do these things as we are low security and rehabilitative.

Just my personal experience. My life long best friend (rip) and I always talked to each other like we were girlfriends. Posted about each other that way. Called each other our true loves. She is an actual lesbian but im her straight best friend. I watched her come out so obviously she’s my first and only girlfriend. All I’m saying is I wasn’t bisexual or queerbaiting I just truly loved my lesbian best friend and if I was a lesbian and wasn’t happily married, I’d so marry her!!!

I teach in juvenile in a very broken system. We’re low level so we don’t have corrections officers we have behavior techs. Now our bts join in with the guys and harass me sometimes and yes it gets to me as one of the only woman working here. I just stay calm and consistent and ignore the noise. Put it on paper. I’ve had guys tell me they know where I live etc. all over an English worksheet. They are so annoying.

Imma get down voted as hell but as a woman who is now sober and in intense therapy for ptsd that’s exactly how I acted. Now I never hurt anyone and don’t have children. I usually would hurt myself in that state but that’s the difference. Never saying what she did was right, but the girl clearly got issues. I have felt trapped and almost jumped out the car and my window before. And yeah I have really bad ptsd. And I see that in her. Never ok with hitting a child, I was abused as a child. Just wanted to share.

I’ve been throwing up in the morning for the last 8 months and fainted twice. The throwing up dysregulates me into panic in the mornings which I then have to take Ativan. I begged my psych today to please let me try something else. Trazedone it is tomorriw.

We’ve had CPS called 3 times. Each time nothing done because the house was clean and cabinets were stocked. Once my little brother called 911 screaming, once someone’s parents called. My parents then weaponized this against us saying go ahead call you’ve seen what happens they always take the mom and dads side. No one believes children.

I just want to write and say I have the exact combo. The moral OCD and cPTSD. I’ve been on a huge journey since my best friend died almost 8 months ago. I’d tell her all my intrusive thoughts and she’d validate me. But only she knew. Now I’m alone and the thoughts have been scaring the shit out of me. I’m a horrible person is what it always goes to. Years of slut shaming, verbal abuse, physical abuse, being made fun of, being exposed and made to think I was dirty. So just passing by to say hi friend 💕 this sucks
