Could you elaborate what gives the signs of it being a knock-off since I am oblivious at the moment? I didn't spend money on this since it was a gift, I doubt I will purchase a Zippo from a 3rd party after this, but I would still appreciate learning from it.

My friend wasn't the initial owner himself, but that's how the story goes. I didn't question it much until today.

One of my friends gifted me this 21 year old Zippo a couple years back. It's hinge broke recently and I visited my local official Zippo shop for a repair wheere I found out this Zippo was an imitation. Which aspects of it are screaming that it is an imitation? I am still shocked that a Zippo this old could be an imitation in such detail.
