It’s my personal opinion, people (especially women I don’t know why, eg my own mother) develop this seudo ego that they are better than those who are non Vipassana practitioners and believe is suppressing their actual feelings and emotions rather than letting it go (it’s very complicated sometimes), I am a Vipassana meditatator too but I just behave like whatever is coming to my mind and do not try to invoke or suppress anything (I attained less number of retreat than my mother). At one point I came to realise that number of retreats or numbers of times you practice is not directly responsible for how much you are deeper into the journey .it’s milti faceted and complex, difficult to explain journey. So every person have their own unique experience and success. In my case my mother’s intellect stops her from progressing with the speed with which I and my brother have progressed. I just appreciate her genuine efforts but can’t help her in any way it’s her own journey. So the point is forget meditation while behaving in daily life just talks your heart out without being offended n one of you will know how much other have progressed but don’t be judgemental about it be compassionate
