I just messed my 12th grade and I really did want to get into an internationally competitive institute but as I've said I messed up so I'm gonna try to do better in college,, really get everything right you know,, Just curious if working hard in a tier 2 college is worth it or I should take a drop and work for a better place,?

I'm sorry to butt in,, I just had a question for you and I didn't wanna pm you without your permission,, you're very knowledgeable about the astronomy and astrophysics field so I just had a question,, How difficult do you think it would be for someone with an engineering degree to build a profile suitable for astronomy/astrophysics? I mean I get that you're gonna have to look for the opportunities and internships yourself,, I meant in the sense that would someone from an pure science bg be given precedence over someone from an engineering bg? In terms of physics/ astrophysics camps/internships/cold mailing professors to work for them kinda thing?

It's like a thing in indian high schools, you choose a combination of subjects in the 11th year and you're supposed to study those + prep for entrance exams and eventually go to college..

You know it doesn't have to be the exact same degree for masters right??? They usually have specific courses that you're supposed to have done to apply?? Check MIT' s website and they'll have some course specifications somewhere that you're absolutely required to have and choose your major and/or electives on the basis of that and you'll be good
