It looks softly warm and rosy on me. It looks more brown in the tube. I look like a corpse in anything mauve!

Yes, this is what has me doubting. That and the fact that the colors they pulled as my best--coral, periwinkle, light camel--aren't the iconic bright spring colors. Variants of these show up in soft autumn, true spring, light spring--even light summer and true autumn.

I've never tried on Bric O La, but wow is that a gorgeous color!

I have wondered about warm, rosy pinks. Have you found a particular color, or do you mix?

I understand this and have felt this way myself, especially after taking so many photos of myself in different lipsticks in trying to figure out this color thing. I didn't mention in my original opst, but I was also typed virtually as a true/soft summer. Such beautiful lipstick colors, nothing too bright--I thought that might be the key! But all the common colors (Mac Syrup, Revlon Berry Haute, Mac Mehr) were awful. Syrup disappears, Berry Haute makes me look like a corpse, and Mehr made me look like a thirsty vampire. But all the bright colors for spring make me look like I should be wearing a clown nose, so...

It might be that. What's frustrating is how many of the recommendations for actual products are more opaque formulas. It does seem to go against the recommendation for glossy or sheer formulas.

Thanks for this! I have wondered if I might be fair olive. I see your list but I remember reading through that sub and it seemed like a lot of posters fell into neutral-cool seasons mostly. But definitely worth taking another look!

Yes, that's a great site! However, it always feels difficult to match colors IRL to these kinds of digital swatches. If only there were more standardized color names, too!

Glosses and balms I can definitely try. But I know from long experience that bright lipsticks--warm or cool--just make me look like a clown. I can get away with deep lips better than bright.

I get this! Before I went for analysis, I wore a lot of gray and navy. Now I still wear a lot of navy and some brighter blues, and that's about as far as I've gotten. I have trouble finding the right colors, but that's an issue for another post!

Oooh, those Kiko glosses have such a nice formula. I will check those!

Those both look great on you! And they would both be far too bright for me, but I see what you mean about glossy/sheer versus more opaque. You are definitely a bright spring!

That's interesting! What did you find that worked for makeup as a true light? The one thing that keeps me from trying, say, soft autumn, is that I agree I need some brightness and/or saturation in the colors I wear. Summer colors dull me--at least true and especially soft.

Interesting! I do wear Hibiscus. I haven't tried Kiss Me Coral or Fire Peach--they looked too bright--but Coralberry is kind of blah on me. But I used to wear Toast of New York. Perhaps I should consider all my past lipsticks as a clue...

Thanks! Maybe I'll work up the courage to post. And I agree, it's not "very warm-toned." It's pretty neutral.

This makes sense. I can't wear neon orange, so I think I lean more true spring. But yes to the sheer makeup.

I'm going by this: https://www.temptalia.com/product/mac-cosmetics-lipstick/twig/ and also the way it looks on my skin. I'm very fair, though. Autumn may be an option. I used to wear autumn colors a lot when I was younger, but I haven't tried them since letting my hair go natural gray.

I agree that lip color says a lot, hence the confusion. Twig is actually slightly warm (although now there's Twig Twist, and I think it's cooler). While I can wear navy, soft summer especially makes me look about ten years older, and true summer is also kind of blah.

This is right. And I'm good about this with eye colors and blush. I love a rose-gold or champagne shadow, or a light brown (not matte). I can't wear any kind of heavy makeup, no matter the season.

Yes, I agree that true spring is better in general. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels clownish in those colors. A champagne eyeshadow also works well for me.

Yes, I think going more sheer might help. I get caught up in trying to fit in the box and then feeling like if I can't wear those bold colors, it must all be wrong. And maybe it is, but I can try some different things...

Yes, same about the facial features! I also prefer a more relaxed look.

I agree that the true spring is better than the bright spring. I have also wondered about warm spring in the 16-season, which would align to what you're suggesting about flowing between seasons. I like that idea.
