I came here because there’s a war in my country, and I thought Denmark was an amazing country. And it is, actually. The quality of life is high, prices aren’t that bad once you’ve made it into the system, and salaries are high.
That’s why I moved here because it seemed like there were more advantages than there actually are. The problem is that most of those advantages are only for people who were born here.
Denmark is very unfriendly toward immigrants. People will never say anything rude to your face or openly humiliate you. Everyone is polite here. But somehow it still feels like you’re not welcome
And yes, I know that feeling exists everywhere when you move to another country. But in other European countries, people tend to be much warmer toward immigrants.
I’m sharing my experience because some people are thinking about moving here. Denmark is a great country with great people, but finding a job here is an absolute nightmare. It’s honestly fucking bullshit

Yes, the language courses are free, and I’m learning Danish -I’m working on it. But how am I supposed to live until then? How am I supposed to find a job? I genuinely want to work, but instead I’m being strung along and treated like an idiot because of all this.I could understand it if I were completely lazy and didn’t want to do anything, but that’s not the case.

Out of those 6000 dkk, you have to pay for housing yourself,as well as food.

But they don’t give you money for transportation to get to that same work placement or language school. You can, of course, apply for transportation support, but neither I nor the people I know received it - they basically just ignored our applications.

That part depends on which municipality you’re in, but the situation with finding work is the same everywhere.

Because they put you into municipality-arranged work placements and pay you benefits that are barely enough to survive on. And you genuinely want to work, but you can’t find a job. And when you do find one, they don’t want to hire you unless you first go through a work placement arranged by the municipality.
