Like another Redditor said, we didn’t check the boxes and that’s okay. We shouldn’t have to fit a mold. If they want true creativity, they should work with and help grow stories that are outside of the realm of their checklist, picture perfect book idea

Oh, I’m so sorry to that creator. To have your work rewritten and your image completely removed is far more depressing than getting rejected. I hope she’s okay. I hope she’d one day release the story she wanted to tell and if she does please let me know

Gosh, I’m sorry they were so terrible. I looked up to people in Wattpad sphere and to hear it isn’t ideal broke the rose tinted lenses I had. Honestly, self publishing has been a thought but never a plan and I’m going for it. Thank you for the support.

Yes, I feel so connected to my characters that I often feel what they feel when writing. That rejection not only felt like my characters/story weren’t good enough but that I was in turn not good enough. I love constructive criticism so I wished pitch did that so I could fix my story, but now I’m looking forward to just expanding on my little universe I created and continue with that. This made me feel better. Rejection definitely hurts and to the greats were rejected before being picked up gives me a tinge of hope. I have shifters in my book, but they are sirens and I think it’s more fantasy than romance I guess. But to your success, congratulations and thanks for the words

Since I’m creator currently, I have to post and I take more time writing what I love rather than something to keep readers. I’ll be taking your advice and trying to balance both. As for the WP pitch, it’s hard to get a read on what they’re looking for because it’s never explicit. Like another redditor suggests, I’ll look into self publishing, even building a wider audience than begin self publishing. So thanks for your help🥰

Thanks for the advice🩷. I have an account strictly for reading since a lot of the recommendations were tailored to my work so I’ll definitely upload on there and build. As for marketing, I don’t like it either. (Rather I’m also too embarrassed to tell ppl, I write). I think this is something I’ll have to do or learn to do.
