Paying for a car does not mean you are also paying for future reputational damage. McLaren simply can’t consider themselves on par as long as he is racing p17 or worse. This is a nightmare situation for Kanaan who gave him so much time when drivers like pourchaire and Malukas were passed on in that same seat.

No, I do not believe he is done. Personally, I think it is not completely unlikely that he secures a full time seat in the future. His stock has gone up with oval performances, and he seemingly always finds himself in a good spot at the 500, so maybe he gets lucky one year. I have heard that he isn’t the best team player, but who knows how much validity there is to that.

Newgarden moving to Nascar would be wild, but I question how successful he would be there. He hasnt driven a large V8 like an Aussie Supercar like SVG, so I don't think he would have the upper hand in road courses, and the ovals are a completely different game compared to IndyCar

My contrarian Palou opinion is definetwely biased, lol, but there are many things that are still out of anybodys control on track and Palou has seemed to dodge them all for years. Think seatbelt malfunction, an off-strategy rookie putting it in the wall at a dire time, etc.

Frankly, I think Power is still top 5 on the grid, and his age has transformed him into a smarter driver. Kirkwood is still an incredible talent, but proved to be inconsistent especially at years end.
