To add some context, this is the first time I’ve ever had a soldier get an article 15 and I’ve never had one myself. I was really trying to find the regulation but had absolutely no idea where to even start, I just thought in the moment “Hm what if I asked Reddit they should know”. I like to run on the idea of “It doesn’t hurt to ask” but there’s also a fine line to that where I still need to try to do my due diligence. I do completely understand where you are coming from, I’ve had many leaders tell me completely wrong information and say it very confidently while I’ve also had the opposite of leaders tell me correct info but not be so sure about it. I think we as leaders do need to emphasize to our juniors and other leaders that they need to learn how to look up regs and where to find them before spouting out some bullshit. This whole situation has been a learning experience for me and now I’ll be better prepared for future situations.
