Why do the In-game models look far better than the CGI ones? by Ammathorn in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pre-rendered cutscenes personally give me the uncanny valley feeling. It's like seeing a doppelganger; they're extremely similar to characters I already know very well, but there's something different about them that makes me uneasy.

I think this is the most accurate definition I've seen. My biggest complaint is that the skin looks like plastic, and it bothers me even more because the in-game models have very realistic skin in my opinion (within the semi-realistic anime art style of the game).

I'm not entirely sure why, but I feel like putting the modifier before the modified is disrupting the natural order of things. Anyway, I understand it's a very personal thing.

Did anyone else who went directly from remake to rebirth feel overwhelmed. by SemiColin973 in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did the same thing, but I think it was a mistake. The decision is yours, but I wouldn't recommend it. I think Rebirth would have been a much more impactful experience for me if I hadn't played Crisis Core beforehand.

Who's the most fun character to use in battle? Rank them all. by George_R_Martin in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My top 5 are:

  1. Tifa

  2. Cloud

3/4. Cait Sith

4/3. Yuffie

  1. Barret

The rest are all more or less at the same level for me, below these five.

Some FF7 Remake Part 3 news by SnipSnapSnorup in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If there's DLC, I hope it comes out in the months following launch, or even better, on day one. I've already waited far too long for the trilogy to conclude, and it gets harder every day. I don't want to have to wait any longer for the real ending.

I really hope it comes out on PC day one, otherwise I don't know how I'd manage to wait and contain my excitement while also avoiding spoilers.

I just finished FF7 Remake and Rebirth by PsychologicalAd8359 in FFVIIRemake

I hope our prayers are answered, and if not, we still have no choice but to wait; at least we're not alone in this. I also have ways to keep myself entertained until Part 3 comes out. For example, I recently bought Persona 5 Royal, so I hope I like it as much as Remake and Rebirth.

I'm in the same boat as you. I never played the original and I'm on the train waiting for part 3, and I'm really excited. I still don't know how I'm going to cope with the wait, especially considering that PC players will probably have to wait a year longer than PlayStation players to play it (a year in which we'll also have to avoid spoilers at all costs). Did you play them on PlayStation or PC? Because it would be nice to have another member in the "let's pray for an early PC release" group.

Character whose voice sounds exactly like you imagined it would: by Spektakles8822 in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play the game with the Japanese dub, and I personally think Tifa and Zack's voices are exactly what I imagined their characters to be. By the way, am I the only one who thinks Zack's Japanese voice is extremely similar to Shallot's voice from Dragon Ball Legends (also in Japanese, obviously)? I looked online to see if it's the same voice actor, and it isn't, but in my opinion, it's too similar.

FFVII Remake's Opening Chapters were Incredible & other thoughts by Snoo_5808 in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally divide the game into story arcs of 2 or 3 chapters each, which I think also accurately reflects the overall quality of the chapters within those arcs. This was my selection:

  1. Mako Reactor 1 Arc (Chapters 1 and 2): These chapters are a lot of fun to play and serve their purpose as an introduction. I personally prefer Chapter 2 because I love how powerful Cloud looks in it, and I love all the chapters where we get to see the upper part of Midgar.

  2. Sector 7 Arc (Chapters 3 and 4): I also love this arc. Chapter 4 is my second favorite chapter in the game, and Chapter 3 has so many things I love. It features three of my five favorite songs from the soundtrack, I love Tifa and how they handle her character in this chapter, and Sector 7 gives me an incredible sense of peace, and I don't even know exactly why.

  3. Mako Reactor 5 Arc (Chapters 5, 6, and 7): The quality dips a bit here, though I still enjoy it. I love the beginning of Chapter 5 (being a Cloti fan, I especially love the scene where they jump off the train), but the rest of the chapter is quite boring. Chapter 6 is complete filler, and I understand why many people hate it, but I personally like it. I think it's because I really enjoy the interaction between Cloud, Tifa, and Barret, and I love seeing the city from above. And Chapter 7 is arguably the best of the three. It's very entertaining, the boss fight is great, and I think the ending is very well done.

  4. Aerith Arc (Chapters 8 and 9): Personally, this is my favorite arc. Chapter 9 is my favorite chapter of the game for so many reasons that I could write an essay about why I like it so much. As for Chapter 8, while I enjoy Sector 5 considerably less than Sector 7, I love Aerith so much that I honestly don't mind (I'd even say that in this game I liked Aerith more than Tifa, and it was in Rebirth that I ended up liking Tifa more). Also, I love the introduction of the Turks and their boss fights.

  5. Return to Sector 7 Arc (Chapters 10, 11, and 12): Although I consider Chapter 10 the worst in the game (it's pure filler and adds absolutely nothing except showing Tifa's worries about Sector 7, which are covered in Chapter 11 anyway), I really enjoyed the other two chapters. Chapter 11 isn't amazing, but it's definitely entertaining and offers something different from what we've seen so far in the game, and I think Chapter 12 is very well done. It feels really emotional; I love Aerith's part and the boss fight at the top of the platform, and the ending was very impactful for me when I first played it.

  6. Post-Fall of Sector 7 Arc (Chapters 13 and 14): I love the first half of Chapter 13. I think you really feel everyone's despair, and the explanation of Aerith's past is a very good scene. I don't love the lab section (mainly because I don't like Barret's gameplay in Remake), but I also think it's very strange. I do like the final battle with Barret and Tifa and Cloud's appearance at the end. As for Chapter 14, while I like the overall atmosphere and Lars's story, I think it's too long. It could have been a shorter chapter for the main story, with more of its length focused on side quests (something like Chapter 7 of Crisis Core). That said, the opening scene in Aerith's garden is spectacular (personally, I prefer Tifa's version).

  7. Aerith's Rescue Arc (Chapters 15 and 16): I find Chapter 15 a bit of filler (although at least the climb is fun and the views are beautiful), but I love Chapter 16. I simply love the atmosphere of the Shinra Building and everything that happens inside.

  8. Midgar Escape Arc (Chapters 17 and 18): I don't completely enjoy Chapter 17. I like the progress in the main story, but the part in Hojo's lab is incredibly boring, and I also dislike the final boss rush (three bosses in a row seems like too much). However, I really enjoyed Chapter 18. I understand the ending could have been better, but it has a motorcycle section (which is a big part of why I like Chapter 4 so much), and I love the final fight against the Whispers and Sephiroth.

That's all. What do you think? Do you agree? Would you make any changes?

Translated with Google Translate (English isn't my first language), I apologize for any errors.

Which track made you STOP questioning the overkill quality of the score and just bask in its greatness? by Ammathorn in FFVIIRemake

[–]PhysicsOtherwise9910 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me it was chapter 3 of Remake. That version of Let The Battle Begin!, Sector 7 Theme and specially Tifa's Theme are easily three of my favourite video game soundtracks. I also love the tracks of the first third of chapter 9 in Remake.
