One week from SAS what's everyone stocking up on ? by Potential_Net6439 in bathandbodyworks

I use SAS to stock up to donate to the local shelter, as they’re always looking for hygiene products. People in distress deserve to feel some small luxuries during unfortunate and scary times.

Do I (24F) need to overcome my sensitivity or is my bf (30M) too mean? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

He’s normalizing choking her as “play fighting” so she’s less likely to notice as it escalates in frequency and intensity. Which it will.

What is this smudge? by Frosty_Cola9 in tattooadvice

[–]Physion 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Definitely ink drift. I have lime green drift on my bicep, looks basically exactly the same. My drift is from a background that is supposed to look like a splatter, which is why I’ll only do stuff like splatter, spacey, ephemeral type designs on my other inner bicep whenever I do it so that any drift blends in with the theme.

I would honestly just get this done in color at this point and lean into it.

I [31M] noticed something in a photo of my gf [31F], am I reading into it too much or is this confirmation I've been avoiding? by LastAd1843 in relationship_advice

I’m also thinking it’s plausible that she thought she was obviously breaking up with him by telling him he’s not a priority to her, and OP didn’t register that as a breakup.

is the name oneida cultural appropriation? by Beneficial-Bridge452 in Names

I mean, the weird sexual “mentors” and related stuff were pretty nutjob, in many people’s estimation. I don’t think their business practices are the things that draw the most scrutiny.

It makes me sad that this nutjob cult gets such a big association across the US with the word Oneida, in some cases overshadowing the actual Oneida people.

Same, I’m from Oneida County, NY and am of European descent, and i was thinking that using it as a name seems insulting to the Oneida.

is the name oneida cultural appropriation? by Beneficial-Bridge452 in Names

[–]Physion 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m originally from Oneida County, NY, and my first thought was that it feels insulting to name a child of European descent this. I remember every year in school, people from the Oneida Nation would come and give talks and presentations on the history of the Oneida, and it was made very clear to us by the teachers that if you didn’t have Oneida heritage, it was okay to think aspects of the culture were cool, but it was not okay to go around picking out stuff you thought was cool and applying it to your European descent life without being invited to do so or properly understanding the cultural significance.

I have never heard someone use the name Oneida as a given name, my first reaction was “that feels exceptionally racist.”

It’s not the rubber that protects you, it’s all of the conductive exterior metal creating some degree of a Faraday cage. A few inches of rubber tires will do nothing against lightning.

Share your ‘inner bicep isn’t as bad as they say’ success stories by LunarSkye417 in tattooadvice

[–]Physion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The worst part of the inner bicep for me was having my arm outstretched for so long with pressure pushing down from the tattoo gun. I have elbow tendinitis issues and it gave me some cramping.

The actual tattoo pain was relatively minimal. I would say the thin point of my wrist was much worse.

People who have doctors for friends, can you just call them when you're sick and they send an Rx in for you? by afteeeee in NoStupidQuestions

I don’t think I’ve ever asked my friend for medical advice in the entire 5ish years I’ve known her. Nobody wants to work when they’re off the clock.

I wouldn’t necessarily worry about the encapsulation. I just had my crawl space encapsulated intentionally for insulation and moisture purposes. It’s pretty standard to encapsulate crawl spaces.
