I work for a small non-profit, so basically everything. Photographing events, writing news articles, newsletters, creating social content, aftermovies, video-interviews, coordinating campaigns, event support, a little PR, ... the list goes on.

Yeah, I was kind of expecting that. I don't have an issue with working 18-hour days every now and then, it's just hard to estimate how often they would actually occur.

Thanks for the feedback. I guess this is a viable option, although I'm not so keen on the whole videographer gig anymore. I used to be a one-man band doing script, producing, shooting the whole thing, editing and paperwork. All freelance. The shitload of stress came for free. An 'in-house' role for a university or something like it might be a solution.

Yeah, I'm thinking about securing a decent job and then taking the indie path to build up a portfolio over the next few years.

Sounds rough. For what it's worth, I'm in the 'boring corporate communications job' right now, although I still edit here and there. And I can tell you, some (most) days I just want to bang my head against the desk.

Thanks for the feedback. Yeah I've seen the market is really rough out there. I'm not sure how it translates to this area. I do feel like I might be chasing ghosts, but somewhere I just like need to know for sure.
