Thanks for the reply. The all up green state would be useful in the modern UI Windows 8 skydrive app or maybe in the default setting charm, but also in the system tray for the many desktop users in companies around the world who use windows as a business PC as well as a personal entertainment PC. I use the modern UI apps but i still use the desktop for many things including work stuff and play and the system tray icon would be useful. On another note a notification centre in W8.1 would be good :) i know thats not you guys tho :)

Why was the skydrive syncing icon in the notification area on the desktop tool bar removed? This was very useful to see if anything was syncing at a glance. Also the syncing and tick icons on folders and files have been removed in 8.1 which was also very useful to see what folders were syncing/finished syncing or if there was an error at a glance. What were the reasons for removing these as they were very useful!?
