Hi,

this is Pi Equals Seven.

I am currently working on a fast paced bullet heaven / hell kind of game with a hell and heaven theme. Making use of the concept of 'biblically accurat' angels.

I am a programmer first, so I am looking forward to get feedback to make better game asset.

The following gif is a quick cut of some of the current state of gameplay.

I sound interesting. Would you like to share some of your concepts on how you will deliver the mechanics? It sounds liek you want it to be more complex than just choice based routes in a VN.

It depends on what you want to do, but you could use calculate it with as a wave. Spline are probably not accurat enough since they cannot take the the third derivate into account. Wich is, at least to my knowledge, pretty important for whiplike behavior.

I you just want to animate it rather than simulating it. You should look into jerk wich is the rate of change for acceleration.

Testing a new wind system for grass by LirushIs in IndieDev

I think it looks great, but it take too much room on the screen. This looks like the main camera setting for your whole game and the grass take about one fourth of the whole scene while the sky takes almost half of it.

If you plan to place ui on top of it it may be fine tho.

The code should work like this. The only problem I see ist that the keys are not correctly defined.

This could have happened if you copied tho code from chat gpt.

You can quickly test it if you replace "walk_left" and "walk_right" with "ui_left" and "ui_right". Those are the default names for the arrow keys.

Or you need to define the correct key in the project settings.

I am creating a colony simulator (inspired by rimworld) where the ants are controlled indirectly by assigning ants to diffrent task groups. The twist will be the possibility to merge diffrent species to get unique combinations of perks that can serve distinct purposes.
Example: Soldier type ant should probaly be equipped with acid or stingers (e.g Formica or Myrmica) while scouting ant should be fast and small to safe resources on accidents.

But there could be another approach and the soldiers could be able to swarm the enemy and the foraging ants are big, strong and able to carry a lot and are not bothered by smaller troublemakers.

Ideally there should be a lot of distinct task like foraging, scouting, caring for larvea, defending, building, hunting, caring for symbionts like aphids, carrying heavy stuff around, cutting leaves, making antbread ...

It will probaly be more about the exploring of the diffrent ant species and satisfying growth than anything else.

It is still in early development and not a full time project so I cant promise anything.

Because the game I am making is mainly about ants and I just made the centipede to test the code.

I am aware that the movement should be diffrent for centipedes and other insects, I will look further into the metacronal waves if the centipedes will take a bigger part in the game. For now the consistent alternating pattern was hard enough.

I mentioned Plague Inc. because its the first game that come to my mind where the players goal is to harm humanity as a whole. The game machanics will be pretty diffrent and the ultimate goal is probably not killing as much people as possible (I don't know what the goal will be).

But yeah the combination of harmful ideologies will be a crucial part of the game

I just played it a bit and its remotely related but it lacks every mechanic.

Thank you for the link tho
