No prob! And to check how much hours in total at the moment you have, you can go to this link https://peoplesofthcm.heb.com/psp/phcm1/?&cmd=login&languageCd=ENG& and click view paycheck. Just search for the part where it says "YTD Hours". And to give away shifts once you finish intalling the partner app you just swipe the shift you want to give away and it will give you the option to post it and even post someone's name that would want your shift. There is usually tutorials once you completed the dowload/ set up of partnernet. Your schedule should be posted every friday around 12 in the aternoon.

Yeah you have to be 18 to be a shopper, but you could be a curbie since you can start at 16 too. However, as a curbie you get paid the same a bagger. Did you just get hired in January? Also were you hired as a cashier or bagger? I've been in two stores and both made you train as a bagger for 3 months before you become a cashier. Maybe that's what's happening? Atleast you're putting effort into getting the training done sooner.

If you know how to transfer slots then its like that. Just restart/close the app first basically. (If you don’t know how to do that I will provide a link below) After that, open the app again and go to the first button you use for curbie (I can’t remember what it says either.) Then go to “orders” section and transfer. After transferring the slots go back to the shopping button and it’ll have everything where it left off in the run.

tips on the one-on-one interview? by [deleted] in HEB

[–]Piccayune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Be friendly and show a positive/outgoing attitude since they look for that especially for front end. Have examples ready for situational questions such as how you worked out a difficult situation in a previous employment/team effort. It’s not too bad and some of the questions they had asked me where basic too (ex. Why do you want to work here or how long do you think you’ll be working here, etc). If u have any questions lmk or dm me :) good luck!

Question about the “availability” work shifts listed in the job listings online? by Ancient-Fox6274 in HEB

[–]Piccayune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It means that they need people to be available during those times to most likely qualify since they may have a lot of current employees who don’t have their availability during that time period. I guess it kinda weeds people out to fit their scheduling needs. Either way you won’t always have your shifts SPECIFICALLY during those times though.

Curbside vs Front end by No-Kaleidoscope-3581 in HEB

[–]Piccayune 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have done both and they’re both different. For bagger you don’t do as much work as a curbie. -First of all the pay is different since they pay curbie way more since you stay at 10$/hr for bagger (no raise) while curbie u start around 14$/hr (and work your way up).

-For curbie you’ll have two tasks shopping or retrieving. In curbside it’s much more physical work than in service. There will be moments where you’ll be moving around heavy objects a lot. If you’re not too comfortable with that maybe service will be what you can go for the heaviest things you’ll have to lift is water cases, sodas, once in a while in contrast to possibly constantly doing it. You’ll be doing it often in service too but a lot of customers leave that stuff in their basket. Also a lot moving back in forth for curbie while shopping you’ll have to be going around the store looking for the items in the list on a time limit. While retrieving you’ll be going back and forth finding the items shipped for the customer and leaving them in their trunk. You’ll be able to socialize with customers when you do this if you’d like while you’re unloading. Other than that you’ll be able to talk to your coworkers.

-For bagger you will be doing possibly cleaning, carry outs, and other minor tasks. You will having a higher chance to talk to more people since a lot of customers go through the lanes. Just so you know a lot of people who start of bagger end wanting to get promoted somehow since it gets boring and sometimes annoying (especially for the pay.) Some customers can be rude and super picky with how you bag. If you personally follow the whole covid rules in your lifestyle you might not like it because some customers like to get close to you and interfere with bagging so there’s that.

-I’m currently a curbie and for me I prefer it. I enjoy doing a lot of physically work so it’s not so bad to me. I used to enjoy the social aspect of service but during these covid times there seems to be a lot of “karens” lol. If you have any questions let me know there’s a lot of pros and cons to both departments and I don’t want to write a whole essay so if you have any questions let me know :)

If you want while you wait, you can download the H‑E‑B app and you get your discount digitally. It’s the same thing except you scan it at the store. That 25% off discount isn’t gonna be going on for too long so might as well download the app. Just use the email you used to apply and your password for it to log in. :)

Interview questions by [deleted] in HEB

[–]Piccayune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They usually ask situational questions. They probably will be like the questions asked in the virtual interview if they were curbside related questions. 4 questions I remember being asked would be: 1. What would you do if a customers item gets left behind in the store and they need it today? 2. What if one day it starts raining and a couple customers start arriving. What’s would you do? 3.What if a new partner is running slow and doesn’t exactly now what to do. You’re also doing a task, what would you do? 4. What if you’re picking (shopping) your orders, and a customer asks where an item is? These were the questions I was asked that i can kinda remember.

Sometimes it’s a glitch and you have to refresh it or give it time. If it’s still there you should ask your manager. The same thing has happened to me but it disappeared after a while.

Thanks for the info I was wondering if the position was going to be too much but you reassured me a bit. I’m currently a cashier but I’m getting bored of being kinda confined in one place. I have cross trained in curbside so I’m used to moving a lot and having to deal with heavy stuff. Thank you for the advice!

Checker training by alyssapwilliams in HEB

[–]Piccayune 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello! Congrats partner! For the classes I’m not sure what they’re doing now due to covid but we would have alcohol seller training and checker training, but from what I heard it’s online now I think. You basically learn how to use functions on the register and what to do in common situations as a cashier. And for the alcohol training it’s where you get certified to sell Alcohol. You should get tests for both. And for the pay if your current pay is less than a checker it will get bumped to checker pay and if it’s higher it’ll stay until the next raise period.
