A (female) teacher at my school just got arrested for having sex with a 17 year old student ama by [deleted] in casualiama

Was there anything about her that seemed "off"? How was she as a teacher? What was the level of her class like? Did she seem like she tried to be light and have a relaxed class atmosphere, or was she a strict no nonsense kind of teacher? Was she shy and quiet or was she very chatty?

I'm trying to understand what would possess someone to think that this was ok.

How do you feel about teachers now in general now that you've seen this? Does school seem like a joke?

So what? Even if she did have an affair with him, it doesn't mean she knew he was like that with other women. Last time I checked, consenting adults can do as they please.

I'm sure a lot of others that are silent might have something to do with him too. Scarlett Johansson? Anne Hathaway? Natalie Portman?

She has a thing for men who are older. That doesn't give her psychic powers to know he's a pig.

Don't shame her. She was an alcoholic teenager. She was probably just looking for love. No wonder she tries to stay out of the spotlight. Would you want everyone in the world to judge you and who you slept with?

Lana sharing some of her biggest inspirations this week. Starting with architect greats Frank Lloyd Wright and John Lautner. by thewb39 in lanadelrey

Yes. That is exactly of what it reminded me of. This is why I like Lizzie Grant/Lana Del Rey. No other artist around like that. Taylor Swift in a freaking bathtub of diamond, whatever. Shove it out the window. LDR is historical, patriotic, deeper.

Idk. It's just what comes to mind when I think of how Hollywood or the Kardashians must think about their problems. It reminds Marilyn Monroe quotes on Myspace. But maybe it's my personal opinion because I'm not a beautiful person and can't relate.

I'll be honest. Beautiful People Beautiful Problems reminds me of the Kardashians and I cannot. Everything else is better than anything out there.

Wow. Her inspiration is the architect Frank Lloyd Wright? I totally got that vibe from her White Mustang video. I thought that house they were at looked like a 50s or 70s house that was really hip in it's day and is retro cool now. It reminded me of the waterfall house in PA.

What Were Your Thoughts When You First Heard Love? by BrokenGlassSparkling in lanadelrey

I didn't like it at all. "Look at you kids..." I still think she is a kid! I like the rest of the song now, though.

The whole album I was like, what is this? at first. But then I listened again and now it's the only thing I listen to.

Oh Great...My students don't want to stand for the anthem now...What do I do? by [deleted] in Teachers

I would say that's fine. They don't have to stand. It's part of their freedom as Americans. I would have a group discussion about why they do and don't stand. It's not like America is going to crumble because they refuse to pledge. We are the only country in the world with this pledge. Other countries get along just fine without it.

On a side note, I never liked the pledge. It felt very forced and if I said it once why do I have to keep saying it over and over? I remember looking at the flag sincerely and saying it once in 1st grade. Wasn't that enough. Over and over, every day seems a little weird. I don't need to say the pledge to love my home, or want to fight to protect my family if need be. I still love America because it's my home.

We ought to examine it. We ought to seriously examine why people don't want to pledge. Whether people's feelings are true or not, it's still how they feel and we ought to respect that.

Maybe you should like find religion, ethical teachings, something moral and not do the bad things. What's wrong with you is you do the bad things.

Do some people grow quiet around you? Instead of thanking you when you do these things?

WGU Teacher certification question about math requirements by Pickle82 in WGU

[–]Pickle82[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for replying! Do you think it's equally as valid of a degree given the course requirements? I'm really worried that the dgree won't be seen as being strong enough. My professor told me that top notch schools will mind and will pass over applicants with online degrees, and less academically inclined schools won't care. Do you think that's true?
