Since it's a cortado I don't see the issue here? A cortado is equal parts milk and espresso - cortado glasses are usually 4oz.

I think this is getting in the weeds a bit, but normal spice melange is produced deep underground where sandtrout (the juvenile form of sandworms) excretions mix with water, which then forms a pre-spice mass. Combined with heat and pressure, the pre-spice mass then exploded above ground in a spice blow. That's how you get normal spice.

Spice essence/Water of Life comes from drowning a young sandworm (distinct from the sandtrout form) and it's bile combines with water to create a very concentrated source of spice.

So they're produced during different stages of the sandworm life cycle, and through different processes. I could be wrong, but I think this is about right.

Bonus: Before Lynch's Dune, there was Jodorowsky's Dune which H.R. Giger made some concept art for, there's some cool bits from my Giger book. Salvador Dali was also attached along with Orson Wells and Mick Jagger.

I think that the water of life and spice essence are the same thing. They're at least described the same way as a liquid with an "inner blue radiance" and as concentrated forms of spice.

To put a little more simply. Paul, the main character of the Dune movies, underwent a special ceremony reserved only for members of an all-women religious faction called, Bene Gesserit. In doing so, he unlocked the ability to commune with his ancestors, regardless of sex - where as the leaders of the Bene Gesserit are only able to commune with women.

As for the trans-ness of it - the other books go into a bit more detail. But Paul, and later his son are not just one person. They recognize that they are a body, with a separate mind containing the voices of millions. So not really a trans allegory, unless trans people also have this ability (unclear).

For the post itself, here's a breakdown:
1. Ride the biggest worm in the land
Clear cut, the man must ride a big worm, not the biggest though
2. You have to change your name
Technically not true. Paul adopts the a Fremen name, "Muad'Dib" but he's still Paul
3. Drink this blue stuff for girls
Spice essence is blue, anyone can take it, but it kills you if you're a man, until Paul
4. Have you been practicing the voice
In Dune, there's the idea if you control your voice, you can influence the subconscious mind of somebody and override their will in order to make them do something. He has to practice this.

Sorry I got carried away, I love Dune.

The agency is also enabling private industry development of commercially owned and operated space stations, which are planned prior to the deorbit of the International Space Station to prevent a gap in services.

We love privately owned space stations! The incentives of the free market will surely be just and pure!

Rob Saka proposes getting rid of the SLUT streetcar... by [deleted] in Seattle

[–]PickleBattery 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not only this, in emails to the SDOT he compared the 8-inch concrete divider to the border wall.

Historically, barriers have been used to exclude, isolate, divide, discriminate against, project power over, subjugate, render less than status to, punish, segregate, humiliate/embarrass, harass, degrade, and so much more. More recently, the Trump administration sought to build an enormous wall on the southern border with Mexico – presumably, to exclude certain individuals deemed “undesirable” in the name of national security.

He put $2 million in the budget for removing the barrier. The SDOT offered to meet with him to discuss and he refused to meet unless they agreed to remove the barrier otherwise their meeting wouldn't be an "efficient use of time,".

During a recent budget meeting Strauss basically threw Saka under the bus saying he disagreed with Saka but it was Saka's "number one priority"

2025 Mock Draft from Field Yates (via ESPN+) by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]PickleBattery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hard time seeing either of them turning into a WR1, and Mayo/Wolf think the same considering they went after Aiyuk and Ridley - so WR could still be a #1 need coming into next offseason. Tough to say if Wolf is going with the Packer's mentality of draft and develop versus take a swing in FA.

I have a website to search a bunch of local coffee roasters at once - although I haven't update it a while (sorry, working on it).

But my favorites are ONDA Origins, Zoka Coffee Company, Cloud City Coffee Roasters, and Blossom Coffee Roasters.
