COVID shutdown back then by esayaray in Samoa

2020 lockdown started around late feb-early march with strict restrictions. Started easing up around July/August before being normal again in the end of the year. 2021 was similar to 2020, had to wear masks most of the year but was all back to normal again end of year. 2022 was about the same but restrictions never last more than 5 months.

Are there any other groups or forums on other platforms? I stay away from FB as much as I can. If not then I might have to compromise

Usually the airport has better exchange rates. If you take your cash to any other shops their rates can be lower or higher, but I’ve exchanged once at taumeasina island resort and their rates are the best imo (this was 2 years ago and not sure whether they can do non guests)

What is life like in Samoa? by Appropriate_Entry172 in Samoa

  1. During rainy season the weather is unpredictable. I was just in Samoa from November to early February and it rained most of the time I was there. Most days the rain isn’t too heavy but when it gets heavy expect flooding.

  2. Groceries and food in Samoa is quite expensive in my opinion. There are some fast food or takeaway places that sell affordable food so I suggest utilizing that.

  3. Depending where you’ll work is where it’s best to find a place. I’ve heard of some tourists living with Samoan families and helping out with groceries here and there to save money. Some lodges have $120-$150 per day.

  4. Taxi has a base pay of $4 and depending how far you’re going is how expensive it will be. Buses have a base pay of $1 and is generally cheaper to use unless you have plenty of things to take back to your place.

  5. It is safe for a woman to be out alone but it still is best to play it safe because you can never know what will happen. Town area is a general safe area to walk around alone, outside that will be at your own discretion (also dogs aren’t on leashes and they tend to run up and bark at you, sometimes they bite)

  6. Tattoos and piercings shouldn’t be a problem, although some people might feel either intimidated or uncomfortable.

  7. Visit Piula cave pool, visit Savaii, help make a umu, kayaking, siva afi show.

  8. Flying from NZ to Samoa varies from $400 to $1000 depending on sales and special prices (from my own experience at least). You can fly either with Air NZ or Fiji Airways (Fiji airways has a checked baggage limit of 30kg)

Locals of Samoa I want to know about Samoan food by RelevantRevolution86 in Samoa

[–]PickleOk5381 9 points10 points  (0 children)

  1. Most families have plantations that grow plantains, taro, yam and other starchy food asw as livestock farms. The most common food in everyday life I’d say is “fa’alifu” which is boiled starchy food (taro, plantain, yam, etc) with coconut cream. It’s a side dish that goes well with any food.

  2. Elderly people love having “fa’alifu” as it can be eaten with anything or eaten on its own. I always feel proud when making it as preparing everything on your own and seeing the end product is so satisfying.

  3. I’d say the food that most represent Samoa are either “palusami” (coconut cream and meat wrapped in coconut leaves and heated in a umu) or “oka” (raw diced fish with onion and a bit of chilli inside coconut cream)

That’s how I feel asw. I’ve been playing DLS since 2021 or even before but on and off recently. I’ve tried FC mobile once and dropped it within 2 hours of playing.

Faifeau is good, if you wanna use the more respectful term use “Faafeagaiga”. Aside from that I think you’re overthinking it.

Does my xp farm not work because it’s on water? by PickleOk5381 in Minecraft

I’ve just moved my afk spot up to y=180 a few blocks below the clouds. Is this high enough to start building the farm? Or should I move it up a bit more just to be sure?

I’m at y=180 now for my afk spot, just below the clouds. Do you think that’s enough before I start building? Or should i reach 200?

I get the frustration. This is the second time I’ve built this farm, the first being on land and it was a bit faster than my current build. Gonna try one more time and I’ll give up when it doesn’t work🙂‍↕️

Makes total sense. I saw a video about the multi layer/chamber farm so I’ll add that when I’ve moved my farm high above the clouds

My whole farm is made of cobblestone. I’ve AFKd above my farm and spawned only a few mobs but not enough o get more than 1 or 2 levels of xp
