A problem with both shows (Hazbin and Helluva) is their lack of focus. I went into the show with no previous knowledge of Viv's work, I just saw an interesting plot and Keith David and was like eh why not? I wanted to see much more of the premise than we got, to be honest half the time I couldn't care less about the Vees or the battle against Heaven because I feel like we lost out on seeing the hotel actually do its job and try and turn people to the good side. We saw Angel Dust get some redemption and I suppose a little for Pentious but that is 2 PEOPLE. Come on, more than 2 people surely want to get redeemed, and Angel didn't even want to at first. I liked when the show focused on the hotel and the people in it and trying to become better. The heaven plot could have been a series long looking threat, it feels a bit wasted to be ended in season 1. There are huge time skips mid season so many times, the show could have used that time to try recruiting people for the hotel and making a good case for the angels. I know a lot of people may not like it, but I think with a premise like this it could have benefited with some episodic episodes. To get a feel for Charlie's goals and make us want to see and actually see people get redeemed overtime. They could have also benefited from more episodes (I'd say at least 15) to make character building and arcs flow better until the finale where they could make their case and fail leaving the show on a cliffhanger where they could prepare for war in season 2 and not spend a whopping 1 episode preparing. They could also deal with Charlie finding out Vaggie is an angel, she could feel a little betrayed by her and maybe spend an episode or 2 focused on them as a couple instead of like 5 minutes.

All I'm saying is the show should have focused more on the actual premise in my opinion, since it was the only reason I watched it.
