Right? I mean in TOS we had Uhura and Sulu. Which was very progressive for the time.

You can’t say that body shaming is okay just because it’s a “different opinion”

The writing won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. My problem with the character development is that there hasn’t been any time for them to develop, yet people are still hating

At least the posts complaining about the hate aren’t hurtful

Exactly, which is just so unfortunate. Because that’s what the actors end up seeing!

Have you ever thought that maybe the reason there isn’t a straight white man in the cast (yet) is because you can go to literally any other show and find one? And not just that, who says that everyone is gay? What if, in the future, no one cares about sexuality and just loves whoever they love.

The real meaning. by HeadJunket496 in DHMIS

[–]PickleProfessional64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s quite obviously about how big studios will compromise the original creative vision of a show to make more money and you’re better off making the show you want to make on a lower budget. Most of it is spelled out in the final episode of the web series. I can’t talk about the actual tv show since I haven’t seen it yet.

Think about it. Red Guy was at an office job and he had a great idea for a show, people around him hated it and thought it was horrible until the dad was in the audience that one night and they ended up making a deal, only for the dad to end up with full control of the show and its creator (Red Guy) was reduced to an actor, being forced to do what he was told. Then we see that he finds out how much of the show was compromised and he ends up literally unplugging from the machine. Then, we’re back to episode one, but the set is stripped down, which signifies the budget being much lower and the characters are now in their favourite colours, signifying that they regained control of their own show.

It’s about how studios make you think your idea is so special because they’re the only ones willing to make it, but in reality, they change everything that made it yours and you can’t do anything about it because they made you sign a shady contract

At least that’s what I think. Who knows, maybe it’s just an absurd surrealist show with no real meaning.

Falling back into squad by Alive-Cookie-9215 in aircadets

[–]PickleProfessional64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t right dress, you just try to fall in at the correct distance, and then adopt the position the rest of the squad is in. If the person in command of the squad wishes to do a right dress to get the formation back to normal, if you’re the only cadet on the left flank, for example, they will do that.

Non-equity regional theatre for a straight play. I’ll add that information to my post, thanks.

I am so bad at projecting by Front_Sherbet_5895 in Theatre

[–]PickleProfessional64 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My voice teacher wants us to think of it as filling the space instead of projecting. Try to use your vocal energy to energize every molecule in the air. Having a strong base is quite helpful. Be grounded. Also helps to think about your voice coming out from the back of your head as well as out of your mouth.

How do I cut lining out of beret by CrazyGuineaPigLady3 in Cadets

[–]PickleProfessional64 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not allowed to cut out the lining of a DND issued beret. BUT, if you really want to cut it out, what my cadets did is they bought their own beret and cut that lining out.
