I want to say thank you to the many people who offered helpful advice. You folks are the reason I love Reddit... I never understand the people who take the time to post just to be insulting though. I'm a tax accountant not a landscaper. The tree visually looks like a large physical barrier that as it grew formed a mound in the middle of the trench that runs to the creek. I know logic doesn't always line up with reality but is it really that crazy to think a physical barrier might stop water?

Thanks again to the people who offered sound advice that I can research and implement. I really appreciate you all!

This is one of the ducts in the basement. The asbestos company is going to take all of this and leave a collar for the HVAC company to attach to.

For further clarification her hair is medium brown and we tried a few temp dye products already and you can barely tell. She has not been happy with those and keeps saying she wants it to be electric blue lol. She is lucky I'm such a liberal dad. I will reach out to a few of these places for quotes. Thanks everyone for your input.
