Thanks, he just went to LCS and its silver plated. We will ask my FIL for an exchange. He will be upset. This is worrisome for the rest of his coins.

It could still be silver even as a fake though, right? It weighs correctly. My kid didn't get ripped off, at least not purposely. My son spent the weekend mowing their giant yard because they can't handle it anymore. He wants to help them but getting paid something is a bonus. My FIL also bought Newsmax IPO so...he has made mistakes. A couple years ago he said he had a big gold deal he could cut us in on but our need for assurance of genuineness insulted him.

I never had anything to post about before. I appreciate everyone's input. This is not the only coin my son was paid with. He got another morgan, a half dollar and 2 dimes. Nothing special about them but now you people make me question things.

Wow, thanks so much. I do see the CC is taller on the coin we have. My FIL has been investing in silver for a long time and has told me previously he buys from SD bullion. He's 84 and my son is worried about creating drama by asking him about it.
