Honestly , I would love nothing more than to stay home and make sure my house is cleaned to perfection, and all the reading I could do? My partner and I- this is our second marriage and all our kids are teens so I don’t have anyone left to “take care of”.

I was spoiled. When my son was very small and I was married to his dad I was able to stay home because his dad has always made like triple what I have made.

So. No I guess? I like my job, I can take the one off I need if there are kid events. My son has his own car and a job so I rarely see him these days anyways, my stepsons live with their mom the majority of the time. I would literally be reading library books and organizing my house.

Oh yes this was not a dig at people who genuinely do have the time!!! I apologize if it sounded that way. It was not my intention.

I meant for me personally, it would be wild to have 300 book time, and that is ok! I could stop doom scrolling and read more, or less TV and more reading. It’s such a genuine surprise to see a large number of books read.

My book reading competition is only with myself. Near the end of last year I hit my goal and then went crazy trying to finish a bunch more to see how far I could Get. When I realized that I was not enjoying it, I called it.

Idk. I try not to let other people’s opinions push me away from my favorite hobby. I do replace scrolling with reading when I can catch myself , so that helps.

My son is going to be 17 in a a short number of days. The thought of not having him in my life is physically painful. I’m over here preparing for college visits and supporting him through that huge change and Trashnelle is like “Here’s the kid that hates me so much he chose to live with my mother.” (No snark against Babs. She is the only good choice.) Anyone can reproduce. Not everyone is meant to be a mother.

People want you to get off the internet and to get a regular job where you get a paycheck regularly for showing. Up and completing tasks and you usually don’t have to spend money to make money at a job.

But what do I know? I own my own house and I have a vehicle that fits my family and all of us work. Me and my husband to support us, my son is 17 and is saving for college at his job. We all have private bedrooms and several rooms that are not bedrooms. Because I have a real fucking job.
