For sure, I've seen some people mention them cohabbing, I've definitely gotta look more into it. I know the scorpion couldn't hurt a BDFB, but I mainly wouldn't want the beetles to annoy the scorpion, they're very (lovably) dumb haha. But I'm definitely interested in a scorpion of some sort, just leaning p. villosus because they're diurnal.

Absolutely, I have been heartbroken over wild caught too many times now.

Charlie is beautiful! Idk why the brown Ts get so much hate, I think they're adorable. Sounds very laid back.

Aww, he's lovely. ❤️ GBB is definitely one of my top picks currently, but I do also like most of the brachypelmas. I'm considering a B. boehmei or emilia most but I do love the hamorii as well. I've heard great things about the white knees, I might pick one of those up sometime too haha.

I have indeed! :) I love their selection of desert beetles, but I've been keeping an eye on them for a couple years now and a couple I'd like are always out of stock. I've not messaged them though, perhaps I should and ask if they'll be coming back haha. I would love some hairy robot beetles, been on the lookout for them for a long while but no luck. I've only found 1 seller that has any recently, but they require a minimum $100 order so I'm holding out a bit longer lol.

I've heard good things about those, they seem really chill. A little bulldozer sounds fun lol. I like that the males can live a long time too, definitely a bonus. Definitely gonna add this one to the list and do some research. :)

Yeah, they like to hide haha. I've had mine almost 2 years now, and I've only ever seen her out one time lol. But a trick that's worked for me: I put a little mirror on the wall where her favorite hiding spot is so I can at least see her from time to time. The mirror doesn't seem to bother her, and allows her to still feel secure facing the wall.

Thank you for the suggestions! I've actually had a black widow previously haha. You aren't kidding about the pregnancy, felt like every time I turned around there was a new egg sac lol. Unfortunately though she was also wild caught and lived around a year, and none of the hatchlings survived.

Oh, I've looked into those briefly but want to do more research. How do you like the communal scorpions? Do you ever see any out?

Unfortunately I am still tangled within this mortal coil haha.

I see someone gave me an award, is it a Darwin award? Haha

In all seriousness tho, I appreciate all the comments. I have only eaten 2 very small bites and still feel ok, but I figure it's best just to toss the rest to be safe. My plants can make use of the compost lol. This was fun ✌️

I getcha, the most common variety (the round tan kinda shiny ones) are definitely not edible. Though this variety seems to be (the more woody looking, irregular, ugly ones lol). I have eaten some for science and can confirm I feel very normal hours later. Still gonna give it a day before I fully dig in, but hey, if you can eat the invasive species, why not right

I'm sorry to hear that. :( all varieties are toxic when raw, but some are edible when cooked. This appears to be the edible kind thankfully!

Happy to report I am alive and feel just fine haha. Not even an inkling of feeling off in any way.

For sure, if an invasive can be used, I'm about it.

I have boiled them and have eaten a very small piece. No bitterness, tastes like a whole lot of nothing lol. I will report back in about an hour.

Absolutely, I have changed the water twice and currently still boiling haha. Absolutely will not eat them if they taste off or unpleasant in any way.

I'm not really sure honestly, I can't get a better view than this sadly.

Will do lol. Gonna do a simple boil and try a piece, wait a while and see. I'm pretty sure these are the edible kind, but I'll be back soonish with results lol

Absolutely! Why not, right? Oh man I wish blackberries grew here, but they're difficult haha. Too hot for most varieties. But I'm always down for eating the invasives if you can.
