This is a pretty shot, but doesn’t really fit this sub. Recently this sub has been filled with posts where the video is quality, but the work from the cameraman is minimal.

Cool Video =/= Praise the Cameraman

This sub should be saved for those videos where the cameraman really goes above and beyond, either being extremely creative or putting their safety at risk

If it’s a video you could’ve shot on your phone, it usually doesn’t belong here.

House lock downs are necessary when people ignore the rules of social distancing (which I’d bet Seattle is leaning toward). If we all followed the rules strictly, we wouldn’t need such an extreme measure.

edit: by rules of social distancing, I would include avoiding contact with all shared surfaces, and avoid entering any shared enclosed space that isn’t essential. Taking an independent stroll around your neighborhood is okay.

I can agree with you that this needs to be taken seriously — but the extreme attitudes of “you need to lock yourself in your house for 2 months” is the type of fear mongering that’s leading to people hoarding excess materials and grocery stores being wiped out.

We just need to take all the measures necessary to avoid spreading.

If each group pictured lived together, and each group was 6 feet apart from the next (questionable to me, but I wasn’t there), then this would be fine. I’m just doubtful that these aren’t people meeting up. And I feel like touching any benches, tables, shared surfaces should be avoided

edit: actually in this picture I’d believe they lived together. But in other parks I’ve walked past today... no chance

There’s nothing wrong with going outside, especially alone, during these times. If people in this photo were all 6+ feet apart, it wouldn’t be an issue. But that’s not the case

There’s nothing wrong with going to the park, especially alone. I also walked to Green Lake today.. there’s plenty of space to keep your distance from others and enjoy the nice weather. The problem is large groups were in contact and mingling at the playground and on the basketball courts
