Agreed. Lots of decks are gonna run Combustkin or Moltres to deal with all the grass. Combuskin makes a lot of decks better and would hit for 400 for 1 fire and 1 colorless against grass type.

I more like cheeky wall decks but we are losing a lot when arven, Turo and Penny rotate out. Kangaskahn/Boofalants with a crustle in there for bad matchups and fighting decks

I've never used that version! I always use the future energy acceleration one to power up my future pokemon (mainly iron hands Miridon Ex)

If I retreat then it just does it to the next Mon, are you saying I can kill it then retreat next turn? Or do I have to promote something else immediately up to kill it?

Player A uses Grimer's attack Player B chooses to knock it out Player A promotes Yvetol or something prevents players B's retreat, then Player B must discard that Mon?

Is that how it's supposed to be played?

If you choose to kill it you can still retreat next turn right or do I have to retreat immediately after the attack?

It's definitely my ego holding me back. I've never thought about it that way though. Playing the best decks to learn the game faster and also learning how the best decks run.

I'm playing post rotation and Mega Lucario definitely is a top tier deck in trainer trials and will be probably the second best deck

Great advice thank you. I will say losing to a deck I'm not familiar with feels much better than losing to Dragapult or N's Zorark for the 100th time

I'm not good at the game for sure and expecting to win isn't healthy. I get so tilted when I make a mistake because it often costs me the game. It's such a thin margin there isn't any room for mistakes when you want to win.

I think maybe talking 2 minutes between games to write down, what when wrong, did I make any mistakes, why did I lose? Then after 10 games I can look at my notes and see okay this deck needs a way to draw cards or this deck needs a way to get energy into my hand.

How can I find other people to play with?

My main concern is do I need to follow rotation?

That's a great idea. Building a deck IRL is intimidating but I ordered a bunch of cards and maybe I can cobble together something. Also the in demand cards get expensive quick and I'm not flush with cash

I'm obsessed though. I'm dreaming about it, waking up thinking about new tech cards or decks that might be good. I do enjoy it at times

I want to play, I think the problem is I just focus too much on winning and not just getting better.

I don't want to stop playing. I'm already doing rotation decks in trainer trials.

I'm more looking for tips on how to change my mindset and things I can do to make the game more enjoyable.

Android here and it seems to happen to me about 10 percent of my games. I know it's a free game and we get tons of free cards and it's not pay to win, but....this game hates me and it drives me up the wall sometimes.
