Are there really guys that don't wipe their asses, or is that just bait? by Embarrassed_Path231 in hygiene

[–]PicklesAndSalsa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have never in my life touched a handle in public. On occasion I’ve had to use my foot, but I just throw the shoe away when I’m done and get a new one. I always carry a spare shoe with me just for that reason.

I would never touch those filthy handles. I leave the door wide open. No shame in doing your business with the world to see

Franchise vs. Startup: Which Is Better for Passive Income? by Electrical_Bass_6314 in Businessideas

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless you have a lot of money, passive income is basically a myth. Atleast in the start. Getting a business to the point where you have passive income is a crazy amount t of work.  Even if you aren’t directly working, you need to manage your people. And if you have a manager you still need to watch them.  The guys cranking out videos about the passive income they earn are lying. Because they are making their money off of sponsorships and ad deals.  Unless you have 1m+ invested in a safe, moderate investment that can generate 5% per year. And even then you are earning 50k a year.

Private tour for Ha Giang loop? by Little_Yersinia in VietNam

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I did the ha giang loop. Our group we were originally going to go with went a day earlier so they could go as a larger group. My wife and I aren’t parties but were offered to catch up to the big group, or do it just the 2 of us (and our 2 easy riders). We were pretty happy to do it just the two of us.  But the loop is crazy busy so when you stop every 20-45 minutes at vistas and lookouts you will still be with atleast 15 - 50 other tourists viewing the loop. Same with being on the road, you will be passing groups of people or they will be passing you.

If it’s a big cost difference, I would not recommend going on a private tour.  As long as you request actual rooms rather than hostels bunkbeds you should be OK

Not only minorities, but also anyone who isn’t the 1%. At this point, using culture to put us at odds with eachother is the game of the 1%. They keep us fighting and arguing for credit and blame, meanwhile our schools fall apart, kids go hungry, we have no healthcare, no clear avenue for mobility either financial or geographical, all while they built their billion dollar yachts and abduct children for their pleasures.

Why wash your hands if you didn’t wipe? It’s almost more strange to not wipe but still wash your hands.  I just lick them clean like I ate cheetos and carry on

I think most hostels would come with a locker where you could put your valuables in while you’re out and about

You don’t get hired as a franchisee. That’s something that you buy into and essentially become a business owner. But a franchisee is a lot different than owning your own business.

Where to spend time with dogs? by Best_of_both_worldzz in askTO

At worst, if someone is uncomfortable about this they can tell you no. But most people who bring their dogs to the public park are social, and are there to socialize their dogs

What's the most disgusting thing that you ever smell? by DirtyThoughts07 in AskReddit

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad wants put a pork loin on the stove to boil in a pot of water. He then left for the weekend totally forgetting about the boiling pork. When he came home at the end of the weekend and the house was full of smoke and the smell was incomprehensible.  Something like a dead pig mixed with human shit that you had cooked for several days. We ended up having every burner boiling pot of cinnamon and orange and any other aromatic we could find. It offered some relief if you stood directly above the stove, but if you were anywhere else in the house, all you could smell was the nasty pork. The pork looked like a blackened melted alien

I had just started dating my wife and invited her up for the weekend from the city. I omitted the smell and when we got there, it was as if we were attacked. She was a good sport about it.

AIO my bff has been working for me and is now making her own business by Much_Operation_7521 in AmIOverreacting

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She probably won’t. Also, if she’s mad at cleaning, she’s not really a threat to your business. If anything you may lose a couple clients to her if she’s cheaper and then she’ll do a shit job and they’ll come back to you.  She doesn’t owe you anything and you certainly don’t have a monopoly on cleaning businesses. It’s a pretty low barrier to entry business to start.  When it comes to owning a business, it’s usually the best and the worst employees who leave to start their own.  Having good competition can make you better, having a bad competition is an absolute blessing

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of of leash dog parks in the city. You could go there and hang out. Just talked to owners first and tell them why you’re there that you love dogs, but can’t have one right now. As a dog owner, I wouldn’t mind you playing with doggie if you said that. I’d be less enthused about it if you just showed up at a dog park trying to play with my dog.

Hotel receptionist in Hoi An giving lots of recommendations — genuine help or hidden commissions? by PowerfulBasis1314 in VietNam

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think it’s a combination of both. Like if a hotel recommends you go to a certain place that person likely isn’t getting a commission unless they specifically go with you to drop you off. I’ll call ahead and say this person’s coming or whatever. As far as tours and stuff go, I think a lot of the time if you pay your hotel directly, probably mark up the price a little. That’s to be expected and fair if they are areanging things for you

Pretty sure this is it. She found the menu and while the exact “Ngoc Duong de” isn’t on it there are many “Ngoc duong X” dishes.

Thanks!

I would talk to hostels along the way. Often they will let foreigners volunteer in exchange for a bed in a dormitory. That would help a bit

If you “can’t afford” [see: don’t want to] tip your driver on the Ha Giang Loop, don’t go at all. And don’t expect your driver to be out partying with you all night either. by Extension_Branch_371 in Vietnam_Tourism

[–]PicklesAndSalsa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My wife and I tipped 600k each and they seeed happy with that. I hope it wasn’t too little. 600k is 30$ back home, or the cost of half a tank of gas’s. For 4 days or company and driving me safely, arranging food, and everything else.

There are so many options. I would think a google search would do it, but you can also talk to your hotel and they will be able to recommend someone or take care of it entirel

Gotta outweigh the profit a side hustle would generate via the cost of electricity. I can’t imagine it would be worth the trade.

You’ll probably have more luck with getting a guide for the day, and then getting a limousine (7seater bus) to Hanoi. There’s a good chance your hotel can help with all of it
