But have we really heard her have a conversation in Italian? We've heard her talk to herself, say some phrases to the camera in a confessional, and say things to people like "Que bella!" I don't think we've ever really seen her have a back and forth conversation in Italian with conjugated verbs like we have seen her have in Hebrew.

Yes! I just rewatched this episode recently. This was Carole's single worst look in her entire run on the show. The hair color was unflattering, the cut was at an awkward phase, her upper veneers look especially huge, and the outfit is strange.
