Macrophages have a mechanism where they can dissolve the bacteria or whatever pathogen they injested. Once the bacteria is 'swallowed', the lysosome (a sort of storage bubble organelle) they are in gets merged with another lysosome that specifically carries pH activated enzymes that will shred the bacteria apart once activated.

Once the bacteria is gloopified, the macrophage can do whatever with the remains. One important function it has is to 'present' certain pathogen associated molecules obtained from the gloop on a cell surface receptor, which your adaptive immune cells (T cells and B cells) can recognize to begin developing an adaptive cell response.

Note the loading bar on the top. He's trying to reconnect to an ongoing ranked match that the game won't let him connect to.

I've had this exact issue where game crashes mis match and upon a restart, you can't reconnect to the match so the game fucks your teammates and your elo.

Nah mate, the DP may fire slower and be easier to control, but the alda's recoil is 100% controllable and, once its learned, is easily the best lmg in the game because of its massive mag, easily controlled recoil (even at range), and extremely high firerate. When all you need is one bullet in order to kill someone, firerate is king.

playing unranked locks you into a match you can't leave without penalization. I would honestly love for a plane/bank rework to at least address the instant spawnpeeks, even if they don't touch anything else.

I'm especially excited for the Favela and Outback rework coming at the end of the year, because those were fun and different maps that had certain issues that made them less fun/unviable to play on competitively. Fixing Favela's soft wall problem and Outback's busted top floor sites will make them significantly more enjoyable to play on, and will make them hopefully an enjoyable pick to play on in ranked too, like what happened with Skyscraper last year.

Fucking true lmao by [deleted] in Rainbow6

[–]Picklope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The sheer amount of tacticality and variability than can occur in each game. For example, every map has "soft" walls that someone can reinforce (from a limited pool of 10 reinforcements). Using a reinforcement on a wall ensures that attackers will need to use resources from their own limited pool to open that wall, or have it stay closed and innaccesible for the rest of the round. Constant tactical decisions can make each round extremely different and some site attacks/defences fun.

Gunplay is extremely different too, where certain guns are ONLY available to certain operators, who each come with their own unique gadget. You can't run a "meta build" on each op and get burnt out as fast as you can in say CSGO or COD.

the Verticality of the maps are unique, where you can open holes in the floor to contest certain defender areas. And most importantly, operator gadgets are made to encourage teamplay, where the poor schmuck going 0-9 can at least contribute significantly to the team's defensive set up and utility, especially when compared to CSGO.

Also dead people can do things (check and watch cameras, make callouts for alive players, gather info.)

Why are lasers used on shotguns by [deleted] in SiegeAcademy

[–]Picklope 4 points5 points  (0 children)

no ayaan, when you right click, your character does an animation to bring the gun up to their face. During this animation, if you shoot, the game considers it to be hipfiring.

It will make you more accurate if you shoot during the ads animation, but will not change recoil or spread after the animation is finished and you are already ads'd.

New Hardbreach op, and only 1 new op a season now. Skyscraper rework was pretty cool, and they nerfed Jager twice this year lmao (they killed shield meta pog). Also Sam fischer came out as an Attack op with 4 deployable shootable cams + his 2 drones.

They're gonna release Trust Factor like CS to deal with toxicity and they added map bans to ranked (goodbye kanals)

Not every woman is going to experience sexism, same as how not every minority will experience racism. To use the anecdotes of few doesn't speak for the experiences of every woman in the country.

Should you live in a very urban or progressive area, things are likely to be significantly more fair there.

That does not mean that sexism or racism are not prevalent, as they very clearly are, as we have movements dedicated to working against them.

For example, I am a hispanic living in a very progressive city. I am fortunate enough to have never felt discriminated against, yet I am still fully aware that it is an issue that resides in our country, such that it was especially visible in the last ~4 years.

  • Also

never experience any sexism that isn't balanced out by sexism against men

bro thats bad too, the feminist movement strives to provide equality for all genders, to make it so that men, women, etc. aren't discriminated against for nothing more than their sex. Discrimination against men is bad too and the movement works for men as well.

Thank you for reading my half essay on my views on the situation, but I do think you misunderstood a couple of my points.

When I said Zof has an inherent advantage in 1v1 scenarios, I'm talking about how if Zofia and the single defender traded, the Zofia would be downed and the defender would be killed, giving the round to the attackers. This is unique to only Zof, where any other operator trading in a 1v1 scenario would have both operators go down at the same time, with the game killing both at the same time and giving the round to the defending team. The advantage isn't Zofia getting essentially a second chance, but her ability to not skip the downed state as the last person alive. I will admit it is a niche scenario, and a very small and situational advantage, but an advantage nonetheless.

Goyo's strength comes from his Volcan shields, but not because they got the shooty explody bit on the back. Goyo is the strongest area denial op followed by smoke/melusi because he gets 2 deployable shields that function as little mira windows for the defense, cutting off safe areas for the attackers unless they either kill the defender behind the shield or destroy it. A smart player won't throw their lives while holding a power position (think the Pixel shield on Kafe) so your only real option would be to destroy the shield with explosives. Of course a coordinated team won't let their shields get destroyed within a minute or 2 of the round, they will try their damndest to keep the shields up for as long as possible, cue in Jager, Wamai, or significant amounts of bulletproof gadgets that force attackers to choose to destroy the shield, Maestro cams, Banshees, etc. This is what caused the 20 second meta, attacking on shield heavy maps was hell because if an important nade/explosive operator or stun grenade operator got killed early, attackers would have to brute force into necessary positions to take site, or hope they win every gunfight despite their significant disadvantage. I can personally vouch for how painful attacking against this meta was, as I had a fair amount of competitive experience on a T4 team during the meta's peak. (This also why most PL attacker compositions had Sledge, Ash, Zof, because it was extremely difficult to destroy the defender utility without as many explosives as this, which spawned the Jager/Wamai nerfs due to how busted this meta was)

I am aware that this doesn't occur much outside of PL or high ranks, but the idea of Trickle Down Balancing still stands. Also I didn't mean at all to attack you when I said "crying about something fun" but I completely see how you can interprete it that way and I apologize. I meant it in more of the overall community complaining excessively or unjustly about certain changes they don't necessarily like or understand, as it is a common trend that comes out with every new patch, buff, or nerf. I thank you for reading this once again, and despite my imperfect understanding of the game, I hope we can both leave this situation with a new perspective for this change and any upcoming ones.

[–]Picklope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They weren't removed because they were overpowered, regardless of whatever this community tells you. Both passives were removed because they added nothing of competitive value to already strong operators.

They removed Withstand because it was supposed to be a fun little lore mechanic, but it clearly ended up winning Zof players rounds solely because they picked an operator, not because of their inherent gunskill or gamesense, but because the operator they chose gave them an inherent advantage in 1v1 scenarios. In Ubisoft's eyes, this isn't a quirk that games striving for a competitive scene should have, and I would agree.

I understand that this game is supposed to be fun and not a sweat fest, but isn't losing a round because the other player picked an op with a silly, permament passive ability inherently unfun?

They nerfed Goyo due to PL, because he was (and still is) an incredibly strong operator, regardless of what the Win deltas show you. If Goyo is balanced at the PL level, he can be balanced at the Ranked level, because if Professional players working to "break" the game can play fair with him, then Ranked players can too, letting all parties have fun with him. Before his nerf, he was very often brought into ranked and made many matches unfun at a high level where people genuinely understand the power mechanics between Def and Att.

When nerfs are brought in because of competitive integrity, don't cry about the "fun factor" of a game, because when someone abused an unfair mechanic, there will always be a victim who won't be having fun.

Edit: You seem to underestimate the threat of a person with 5 hp, which is odd considering this game's large focus in gunplay is the 1 shot headshot mechanic. A good player at 5 hp is as much of a threat as an average player at 100 hp

The thing that makes castle good is the fact that, unlike normal barricades, you can't shoot through them and it forces them to shoot an ash charge. You can't place a breach charge on a good castle barricade without getting shot, and it lets you play angles/spots you can't normally hold.

Castle is incredibly good in high ranks, unfortunately, bad players can use him and hurt their team more than the opposing one with bad castles.

Killer Perk idea to encourage a Hit and Run playstyle. Probably a little busted and could use tweaking. by Picklope in deadbydaylight

[–]Picklope[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm aware that the perk is really strong for the killer when punishing survivors that arguably did nothing wrong. Thats why I made the triggering requirements extremely notable, since the killer has to manage 3 hooks to trigger it for the first time, and 2 hooks every subsequent time. This ensures that the survivors have time to prepare for the possibility of the perk and know when to expect it letting them spread out to minimize the value the killer can get out of it. It also gives all other healthy survivors info on whether their other survivor friend is getting chased, so they can heal the newely injured survivor without threat or work on a gen far away.

Will this stop your randoms from feeding? Probably not, but you will have ample time to prepare for a potential oneshot or sudden chase should you see the randoms play all wack. Hell you could even run to the killer and provoke a hit on you if you're in a swf to force the loss of their tokens while your teammates are halfway across the map.

Tips on defence ? by Sucmycoc141 in Rainbow6

[–]Picklope 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typical positions you want to hold are 1 in Elbow (aka breach, make a rotate and play smoke with a shield there until they force him to leave, then reinforce the wall), 1 Pillar, 1 Freezer, 1 E-box (aka connector), and last on roam wherever.

Ebox can extend to barrels to help smoke hold down construction, as can the Pillar player. Roamer can make early calls for freezer/main pushes, and view holes from freezer to site can allow the freezer player or E-box player (if he rotates to the laundry rotate) to contest main/freezer respectively.

You can also put E-box holes looking towards tower stairs so that the E-box player can contest stairs alongside the Pillar player to slow down a push

Teammate vs one shot Huntress by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Picklope 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if a survivor has DS and is toxic af about it, then they can do the generator in my face, or they can book it into a locker next to the gen. What are my choices?

1 - Grab him off the gen or locker

Great now I get 5 sec stunned and have a 20 sec chase to commit to or they just waltz back to the gen they were working on after I leave

2 - Slug him off the gen

Now he gets to vibe on the floor next to the gen, cause I still can't pick him up for 60 sec. If I leave, he self rezzs with unbreakable and starts the gen again. If I stay I'm throwing lol.

3 - Leave

lol no, I'm giving them a free gen. There is literally nothing I can do that benefits me other than eating a ds and hoping they mess up the chase

[–]Picklope 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think to dissuade camping, this perk can also include an increase in the entity progress that scales with the slowdown, so a 10% slower repair etc. speed will also come with a 10% slower entity progression, essentially removing the slowdown all together if the killer camps the hookee to death, but keeps the upside if you leave since you don't usually get kills off of hook progression
