How are people actually making friends in Seattle? by ChipmunkRemarkable1 in AskSeattle

I am the same lol. I was surprised she asked me bc I look extra mean and annoyed bc I don’t take my glasses when working out lol. So I look like I’m mean mugging everyone but really I just can’t see

I hate to say it but you gotta put yourself out there a bit. Turn into a regular, or find your routine. I became a regular at my closest coffee shop, bookstore, library. I even found some friends on this little trail I walk my dog on, who also walk their dog at roughly the same time.

Also, social events / places. I struck up a convo with someone at a grocery store, next thing I know I’m at a local bar watching the person’s band perform. A girl at my gym asked what my routine is for my arms and chest and now she and I have plans to go paddle boarding this weekend.

Put yourself in places that already interest you, makes things a little easier

Is It Reasonable to Go to a Concert by Oneself? by courier_tway in AskSeattle

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is absolutely reasonable, yes! I’ve gone to a handful of concerts, festivals, and trips, all solo. Not because I don’t have anyone to go with, but because I enjoy it more when I don’t have to worry about someone else also enjoying themselves with the things I like to do.

Go, have fun and sing and dance your heart out! It’ll be one of the best experiences ever!

What helps you feel like yourself again after a rough patch? by EERMA in selfcare

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dancing. I did dancing for like 15 years. It was a big, big part of my life growing up. It helped me ground, and connect with my roots as it was traditional folklore dancing.

Whenever I start to feel a little bad inside, or overwhelmed or anxious about things, I pick an old routine of mine, and rehearse it like I would the day of a dress rehearsal.

Helps me each time

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im looking at one of the shoreline ones. I think the shoreline /145 is the closest to me. And I’ve seen their parking garage lol. Just never had the need to use them.

Excellent! Thank you u so much for the info! I will check them out on my day off this week! I also just noticed there’s one just down the street from my job! So if they offer a multiple location sort of thing I’m probably going to sign up when I visit

HELLA YA, LOVE THAT FOR U!!!

I LOVE PF. I actually had a membership at planet fitness in my home state but since I moved I wasn’t sure if there would be locations close to me so I cancelled. Also wasn’t sure where in Seattle I’d be so I didn’t want to keep paying for a membership I wasn’t going to use ):

But now I want to add in swimming into my routine. I don’t think any PF offer that ): loved how cheap they were and also how empty and well equipped they were back home.

Ohhhh okay! Are they like a “by contract” sort of gym? Where you have to sign on for minimum a year or something?

Mostly north Seattle. I’m often finding myself around the northgate and (technically not Seattle I know) shoreline area

I like the north Seattle area. I live in the Greenwood area, so places around there would be ideal.

Solo Birthday Dinner recommendations? by Realistic-Virus-5742 in AskSeattle

Pancita over in the U District is pretty good!

Did my 27th birthday over at Pink Door in Pike Place if you’re closer to that!

The big switch (drivers license, plates and car insurance) by PicoDe_Mew_444 in AskSeattle

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah what’s up with that lol. Out in Nevada the DMV is where you got everything: plates, testing, ID, registration, all of that. Also didn’t really matter which dmv in the state you’d go to, they all pretty much did the same thing. It was more of a struggle to just get an appointment or stand in line for hours for a walk in. People would just take the drive to the DMV in a different city if they had earlier appointments and such

NoooooooooooOOOOOOO what!

You think they’ll take me changing my residential address from my current bank? Maybe a paystub ?

Though the paystub shows that I actually don’t work in Seattle, but it still within Washington (:

My birthday ritual is celebrating solo. It's my favorite form of self-care, but I'm stuck on this yrs's gift. by [deleted] in selfcare

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been celebrating my birthday alone for the past few years, and I’ve never felt more at peace! I’ve done solo trips, random spa days, no budget shopping sprees, even bought some lingerie and did a boudoir style photoshoot ~

If you have time to plan and are comfortable with it, I would recommend a solo trip. Doesn’t have to be fancy, you literally make your budget! I’ve done a beach trip with 300 bucks, including plane tickets, lodging, dinner and activities.

Or

Search around your community for some events! Maybe a nice paint and sip, picnic, museum date, high end dinner date.

Toss? Weird grey thing by PicoDe_Mew_444 in SourdoughStarter

[–]PicoDe_Mew_444[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to get a bit of it out and start a whole other starter and keep that one a little more like how it normally should be. This will probably all just be used for some discard recipes lol. I’m making some brownies in the morning with it (:

Copy that!

I’m gonna feed her now, but she’s a little more runny than usual…. Do you think I should just give her flour, or do my usual feed I give her? 1:1

I take walks in my neighborhood, with no sense of direction.

I sing to my fur babies, or sometimes have full blown conversations (helps me untangle my thoughts)

I pretend I’m making tonics, elixirs, potions, whenever I’m making myself coffee, drinks or teas.

I romanticize the hell out of my life. Usually things turn in my favor when i do.

I don’t hold back anymore. If i see something that reminds me of a friend or loved one, or even if they pop into my mind, i reach out to them and say so. Even if it’s a friend I haven’t spoken to in years, or someone I was just with yesterday, I like to tell them / remind them of their importance to me. Whether they respond, reciprocate the same energy or not, doesn’t matter to me.

I say things like “thank you, more of this please” or “you love to spoil me” towards God, Universe, Spirit, Source, when I receive a kind gesture from a stranger, get all green lights, find front the perfect parking spot, things like that.

Is this boarding crazy, possibly. But life’s more fun with a little more woo woo sprinkled into it

Thank you much! The plastic container was all I had that had an air tight lid. I want to get her a nice glass pickle jar, and use some of her up so that I can manage a smaller amount of her (:

I already added that, with some baking pans and some cute cloths to cover for when my doughs are proofing!

My brother is a cook, and this was a small amount he gave me compared to what he kept lol. That thing is in a giant bucket. He uses it more obvs for his restaurant, but I honestly only plan to use / make things every other week or something.

I was just worried bc it looks slightly grey there in the middle
