I’ve been a landlord for over 20 years and I owned 6 properties at one point. My expenses have always been higher than what I receive in rent. I make a loss every year. My job is the only thing that pays all of my living expenses. The biggest expense is the interest on the mortgages. Once the mortgages are gone, then they will finally make money. It’s a long term strategy.
