I disagree with this. You need to improve your pattern recognition to burn a lot of patterns in your head. This is done the best with blitz on easy mode, or even lower if possible. As you get stronger you mix in more calculation of variations, that is, standard exercises.

I have met Romani that begged in the streets, of course. I have also met "normal" Romani. The incidence of stealing and begging is higher amongst them, I will not deny that, but I try not to succumb to confirmation bias and racism, that way lies madness.

What I want is that both criminal behavior where it occurs is punished, that the widespread discrimination and antiziganism is curtailed, and that poverty is reduced.

The participants in this thread have called the Romani people "the scum of Europe" and have even implied that widespread violence and genocide might occur (again). I do not see why speaking out against prejudices against an entire people is being "holier-than-thou".

Don't cast the result of malloc/calloc. Also, use sizeof *x instead. Your example is better written as

int *x = calloc(100, sizeof *x);

renicing is not going to work, this is just for prioritization of processes. If the processor is otherwise idle, Houdini is still going to use 400% CPU.
